The formed database on the consumption of concrete in the construction of bridges, along with their project characteristics, was the basis for the formation of the assessment model. The models were built using information from 181 reinforced concrete bridges in the eastern and southern branches of Corridor X in Serbia, with a value of more than 100 million euros. The application of artificial neural network models (ANNs), models based on regression trees (RTs), models based on support vector machines (SVM), and Gaussian processes regression (GPR) were analyzed. Preliminary communication Designing road projects involves a complex decision-making process whos... more Preliminary communication Designing road projects involves a complex decision-making process whose objectives should be the implementation of the road design and its utilization in the narrowest sense, but also the facilitation of mobility, economic development of the area and improvement of the quality of life in a wider sense. All of this requires the consideration and understanding of many problems multi-criterial in nature, and decision making with regard to technical components, environmental constraints and the impact on society. The main goal of this paper is to use a real example to explain the role and significance of multicriteria evaluation methods. The theoretical postulates of multi-criteria evaluation are presented (VIKOR method). Using multi-criteria evaluation methods ranking was carried out of the alternative solutions offered for the E-763 highway route Belgrade-South Adriatic (Požega-Boljare section). Ranking was carried out on the basis of 12 criteria which form the basis for evaluating each of the alternative solutions. The calculation was performed using the VIKOR program packages and an analysis of the results obtained was carried out.

U radu je ukazano na značaj primene BIM tehnologije u građevinarstvu i njenu ulogu u procesu planiranja i projektovanja objekata. Nabrojane su mogućnosti upotrebe BIM-a u svakom od ovih procesa (planiranja i projektovanja), kao i koristi koju primena BIM tehnologija donosi u tim procesima. Istaknuta je uloga i značaj primene BIM tehnologije u komunikaciji i deljenju informacija između učesnika u projektu-investitora, projektanta, projektnih timova.

Estimating investment value in railway lines reconstruction process A prognostic model for estima... more Estimating investment value in railway lines reconstruction process A prognostic model for estimating investment value of reconstruction of railway lines using artificial neural networks is presented in the paper. The aim of the model is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of decision making as related to investment in rail infrastructure projects. The model development process is presented and illustrated with an appropriate example, which points to the possibility of using the model for making a rough and rapid assessment of the investment value of railway-lines reconstruction, with a reliability of 80-85% when some input parameters are unknown.

In current practice, the remediation of landslides has shown that the biggest problem is the incr... more In current practice, the remediation of landslides has shown that the biggest problem is the increase in the number of works, and therefore the price of the works. This is due to several factors, including characteristic of the soil, such as the collapse (collapse) of the surrounding ground around the main slide during landslide remediation. Unless these soil erosion effects are taken into account, recovery costs will overrun, which can jeopardize the planned budget. This paper presents a multi-criteria optimization of landslide remediation using the PROMETHEE method and determines the optional number of walls for the additional soil erosion. In a case study on examples of real landslides in the Republic of Serbia, the application of the method is presented and appropriate conclusions are drawn.

The overall aim of this study was to propose a methodology for optimal decision making between alternative materials and components for energy refurbishment of facades in existing family houses. Together with developed criteria, and their belonging indicators, the methodology was tested on selected case study houses located in the central zone of the city of Belgrade. Using the VIKOR method, five suggested scenarios and three sub-scenarios for facade thermal upgrades were assessed against five determined types of criteria: Economic Cost, Function, Circularity Features, Appearance, and Innovativeness. The paper presents the necessary works included in the project for construction, reconstruction a... more The paper presents the necessary works included in the project for construction, reconstruction and modernization of the railway Subotica (Freight) – Horgos -Serbian-Hungarian border, with a total length of 27.9 km. Considering that the technical characteristics of the existing lines do not meet the requirements of modern transport systems, the implementation of these works will result in a high-quality interoperable railway link for both freight and commercial (passenger) traffic and a connection between regional centers in the border region (Szeged – Roszke – Horgos – Subotica – Csikeria – Bacsalmas – Baja). The project represents the first phase of work on the construction of the future railway (East-West) corridor between corridors IV, V, VII and X.

Optimization of complex systems is extremely complex which brings together theoretical and experi... more Optimization of complex systems is extremely complex which brings together theoretical and experimental knowledge of experts from multiple disciplines. In order to consider from all aspects the optimization problem of system in construction, diverse considerations are needed as engineering, environmental, economic, social and institutional. The optimization result has a great chance to be accepted as a good compromise between different interests of participants in decision making, and one of the ways to achieve this is to find a compromise solution. The method of multicriterion optimization, i.e. the method of compromise programming and multicriterion compromise ranking of alternative solutions, is used in this work for selection the optimum route of highway. The objectives were defined, a techno-economic analysis of variant solutions was carried out, the criteria were established and, at the end, the obtained compromise solution is shown.

War developments in the mid-1990s, economic crisis and the lack of funds to reconstruct railway i... more War developments in the mid-1990s, economic crisis and the lack of funds to reconstruct railway infrastructure and the fleet have led to the situation that railway traffic in Bosnia and Hercegovina (BiH) goes at low speeds with low efficiency and limited scope of railway services. Significant activities have been taken within SEETO (South East Europe Transport Observatory) aimed at restoration and development of the railway network in BiH. According to SEETO Comprehensive Network Development Plan 2014 a railway Route 9A: Banja Luka–Doboj–Tuzla–Brcko was defined, 224 km in total length. The paper presents the concept of reconstruction and modernization of the Route 9A railway tracks at (Srpska Kostajnica) Doboj –Tuzla - Brcko section. Fields of application, some classifications in use and benchmarking process phases are outlined. The paper describes systems used in construction companies in different countries (Chile (CDT), USA (CII), Brazil (SISIN) and United Kingdom (KPI)) which indicate the requirements related to the use of performance measures for benchmarking in the construction industry and identify key factors of effective design and implementation of performance measurement system.

The main goal of the research conducted in this paper is to explain on a real life example the ro... more The main goal of the research conducted in this paper is to explain on a real life example the role and importance of the multi-criteria decision-making method. By application of multi-criteria analysis method and ranking the most favourable variant solution for E-763 highway route at the entrance to Belgrade was chosen. VIKOR and Promethee II methods have been used. Ranking has been made based on 20 criteria which make the evaluation basis of each alternative. In this way the methods proved successful tools when choosing the most favourable alternative. The theoretical assumptions of VIKOR and PROMETHEE-GAIA methodologies have been presented in the paper. The calculation has been made by applying VIKOR programme package and Decision Lab programme and then the results obtained were subsequently analyzed.

Four state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms are used for the one day ahead forecasting: multi-layer perceptron neural network, radial basis function neural network, support vector machines for regression (SVR), and adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). The results show that the ANFIS model outperforms other algorithms when the root mean square error and mean absolute error are used as quality indicators.

Četiri suvremena algoritma strojnog učenja su korištena za predviđanje protoka jedan dan unaprijed i to: neuronska mreža s višeslojnim perceptronom, neuronska mreža s radijalnom aktivacijskom funkcijom, metoda potpornih vektora za regresiju (SVR), adaptivni neuroneizraziti (fuzzy) sustav zaključivanja (ANFIS). Rezultati pokazuju da ANFIS model nadmašuje ostale algoritme kada se korijen srednje kvadratne popogreške i srednja apsolutna pogreška upotrijebe kao mjere kvalitete.

The paper describes systems used in construction companies in different countries (Chile (CDT), USA (CII), Brazil (SISIN) and United Kingdom (KPI)) which indicate the requirements related to the use of performance measures for benchmarking in the construction industry and identify key factors of effective design and implementation of performance measurement system.

The main goal of the research conducted in this paper is to explain on a real life example the ro... more The main goal of the research conducted in this paper is to explain on a real life example the role and importance of the multi-criteria decision-making method. By application of multi-criteria analysis method and ranking the most favourable variant solution for E-763 highway route at the entrance to Belgrade was chosen. VIKOR and Promethee II methods have been used. Ranking has been made based on 20 criteria which make the evaluation basis of each alternative. In this way the methods proved successful tools when choosing the most favourable alternative. The theoretical assumptions of VIKOR and PROMETHEE-GAIA methodologies have been presented in the paper. The calculation has been made by applying VIKOR programme package and Decision Lab programme and then the results obtained were subsequently analyzed.

Four state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms are used for the one day ahead forecasting: multi-layer perceptron neural network, radial basis function neural network, support vector machines for regression (SVR), and adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). The results show that the ANFIS model outperforms other algorithms when the root mean square error and mean absolute error are used as quality indicators.

Četiri suvremena algoritma strojnog učenja su korištena za predviđanje protoka jedan dan unaprijed i to: neuronska mreža s višeslojnim perceptronom, neuronska mreža s radijalnom aktivacijskom funkcijom, metoda potpornih vektora za regresiju (SVR), adaptivni neuroneizraziti (fuzzy) sustav zaključivanja (ANFIS). Rezultati pokazuju da ANFIS model nadmašuje ostale algoritme kada se korijen srednje kvadratne popogreške i srednja apsolutna pogreška upotrijebe kao mjere kvalitete.
