In 2008, Seda graduated from Istanbul Technical University Faculty of Architecture Landscape Architecture Department and she completed her master of science degree with thesis entitled with 'Yitik Alanın Peyzajı / Landscape of Lost Spaces’ that focuses on heterotopia, non-place, the third landscape, terrain vague and photography at Istanbul Technical University Architectural Design Programme in 2014. During the period she has been at École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Lyon as a guest scientific in France at 2013.

She has many publications from Turkey, such as YEM, Betonart, XXI, Arredamento, Arkitera and she has been invited by architects, academics and universities from Turkey for talks, reviews or interviews about landscape culture, architecture and nature. As an independent researcher and author of the articles which has been accepted by international scientific committees, Arch&Lit: Inter-Arts Dialogues Portugal 2014, Eurau Alicante Spain 2018, IFLA World Norway 2019, IFLA Europe Turkey 2019.

She has been invited at 2018 as a member of principal jury committee with of the UCTEA Chamber of Landscape Architects Turkey for the 10th National Landscape Architecture Professional Awards. Seda Kurt Şengün founded PARCH, which works on design, research and publishing about architecture and landscape interface issues, together with Hakan Tüzün Şengün in 2017, and her own registered landscape architecture bureau BÜRO SEDA KURT ŞENGÜN, in 2020.

Seda has many project awards in the scope of urban design & architecture & landscape architecture. Between 2016-2024, Seda has been invited by MEF University Architecture, Istanbul Bilgi University Architecture, Istanbul Technical University Landscape Architecture departments as a guest professor to conduct architecture and landscape architecture studios.

The stone, soil, hills and rivers of the Attic landscape give birth to living things and become the source of life and stories of ancient people. Dimitris Pikionis' walks to Athens continue from a very young age to the last days of his life. He makes his curious observations by touching the soil, trees, bushes of the Attic landscape extending from the port of Piraeus to the Acropolis, by painting the silhouettes of the surrounding mountains and hills. He explores the Attic landscape where he was born with patterns, sketches and notes.

Bir asır önce Atina doğası nüfus yoğunluğu ile endüstriyel dönüşümlerden etkilenmeden Atinalı mim... more Bir asır önce Atina doğası nüfus yoğunluğu ile endüstriyel dönüşümlerden etkilenmeden Atinalı mimar Dimitris Pikionis coğrafyadan bağımsız bir modernizmin yaşadıkları topraklardaki günlük alışkanlıkları olumsuz etkileyebileceğini öngörür. Mimarlık öğretmenliği sırasında coğrafyaya ve kültürüne duyduğu hassasiyeti öğrencilerine de aşılar ve üretimlerinde topoğrafya ile ruhani ve rasyonel bağlar kurar. Philopappos Tepesi ve Akropolis Tepesi Çevre Düzenleme Projesi Dimitris Pikionis’in mimari kavrayışıyla bütünleşen özgün karakterini ortaya koyabildiği bir peyzaj tasarımıdır. Pikionis sadece uygulamalarını, metinlerini veya araştırmalarını değil; bu çalışmaların özünde kavranabilecek ‘kültür ve doğa birlikteliğinde ısrarcı ve isabetli’ tutumunu da bir yaklaşım örneği olarak günümüz toplumlarına miras bırakır. / A century ago, the nature of Athens, without being affected by population density and industrial transformations, the Athenian architect Dimitris Pikionis predicts that a modernism independent of geography may adversely affect the daily life of the land which Athenians live in. During the teaching years of architecture, Pikionis also transmits his sensitivity to geography and culture to his students and establishes spiritual and rational connections with topography in his production. He does not only leave his practice, texts and researches as legacy; Dimitris Pikionis' insistence on cultural and natural unity, which can be understood by researching the essence of his work and his ecological attitude to topography, has left today's society a unique approach in both humanist and architectural sense.

Humans, like all other organisms on the world, are part of nature. Urban rhetoric versus rural li... more Humans, like all other organisms on the world, are part of nature. Urban rhetoric versus rural life in contrast to urban life makes us think about the balance, which is the most critical necessity of today's world. The implementation of a fiction that falls within the vital responsibilities of persons as they can enter nature will mobilize the ecological impulses that enable an earth for the vital recipe and sustain the necessary natural balance. Depending on the climate, topography, water regime and soil characteristics, the areas of influence of the plants as separate and communities will be clarified and the relation of the animals to the knowledge of plant communities directly or indirectly in terrestrial or aquatic environment will be described. 'Trees, Gardens, Bridges, Hives’ is a module for Luleburgaz City at Thrace-Ergene basin of Turkey and the module has projected ecologically and architecturally on Tosbaga Creek which is at southeast of the city. As a module for the earth, a habitat constructed by the local knowledge of the specific city that contributes to the earth will spontaneously and naturally emerge with basic architectural knowledge. The project is an idea of both architectural and ecological module for cities. It is located on the border between nature and rural countryside of Luleburgaz City which can be the first city for the earth module.

‘an Extraction of Aliveness‘.

BioPoetics Studio focuses on the tight bonds of the place and atmosphere we live in and ‘Being Alive’, ‘An Extraction of Aliveness’. Those who will be the heroes of the land walk, slow down, measure, count, archive other hero elements that share life on the land, convey a consciousness of a philosophical essence and processes or improvise. All these heroes who establish and represent life, namely us and others, are not together in a hierarchy, they can establish a unity where they share common resources by establishing balanced and systematic connections within the different conditions of nature. However, those who can share a life together can establish a dialogue by leaning towards each other and learning from each other, by being informed and acting only from science, and they continue new stories by adapting the dynamics of life together with time. Determined to evaluate the biological political essences of nature with an attitude and eye that bends them towards a poetic substance, and digs out essences, substances and processes from micro habitats, this landscape architecture studio interprets being together as a mine of life and design. The studio does not address heterotopias created by human hands in the landscape and to which humans and all other living beings are subjected, or dystopias that we anxiously await in the near future, that we do not want to hope for, that are exceptional due to scarcity of resources. This studio focuses on approaching a magnifying glass that cares and leans towards the essences, substances, and essentially existing beings of life in the desire to construct with the relations of the near and the unconscious, and sets sail for the fall academic term to roam in pursuit of surfaces, depths, diagonals, routes, labyrinths, and meanings that can unite the distorted ones, determined to capture the enchantment in the near. #biopoetics #biopoeticsstudio #naturelab #landscapearchitecture
