As a result of our study, 455 species (147 non-marine and 308 marine species) were listed. Besides their distribution, habitat and current taxonomical status data were also reviewed and added to the study.

In this study, 164 samples that were collected by drilling from one on land and eight in the sea were investigated in ‹zmit Bay. Ostracod species were observed in 126 samples and only in 31 of these samples, Urocythereis britannica Athersuch was present. The evaluations of the species, age by electron spin resonance technique showed that Urocythereis britannica Athersuch reached ‹zmit Bay and Marmara Sea through the Agean Sea towards the end of Lower Pleistocene.

Aggregates of the Polychaeta Phyllochaetopterus socialis were recorded for the first time off Gemlik Bay in the Sea of Marmara, in August 2008. These were found at about 53 m depth, on the soft sediments around the sub-sea part of the North Anatoly Earthquake Fault. Samples were landed by beam trawl. Total wet weight of the mats was 58 kg. Forty-three species belonging to 10 phyla associated with P. socialis were recorded from the whole landing materials. Echinodermata and Gastropoda were the most abundant (12 and 8 species, respectively). Shannon–Wiener diversity and Margalef species richness indices were applied to analyse the structure of benthic communities. Presence and abundance lognormal distribution of the species and communities in mat habitat are shown. The hydrographic environment of the water mass is also discussed.

Abstract. A total of 60 species of Ostracoda was collected from 30 locations in the Turkish AeM
gean Sea. Five species, Polycope vasfiensis Sissingh, Leptocythere bituberculata Bonaduce,
Ciampa & Masoli, Loxoconcha gibberosa Terquem, Sagmatocythere versicolor (MUller) and
Monoceratina oblita Bonaduce et al., are new records for the recent marine fauna of the North
Aegean Sea and Turkey.

The aim of this study is to determine the recent ostracoda fauna of lskenderun Bay and to add new informations to the knowledge of ostracoda fauna of Turkey and Mediterranean Sea. The material was collected from 28 stations between 22- 26.9.2002 from the Bay of lskenderun and a total of 56 species were determined belonging to 27
genera and 15 families. These 13 species; Parakrithe dimorpha, Krithe reniformis, Neocytherideis foveolata, Neocytherideis comp/icata, Neocytherideis subsplralis, Bass/erites teres, Urocythereis colum, Urocythereis phantastica, Loxoconcha nea, Loxoconcha exagona, Loxoconcha rubritincta, Semicytherura aenariensis, Semicytherura sella were added as new records for the ostracoda fauna of Turkey.

The Black Sea having unique properties is located on the north of the
Anatolia mainland. Its brackish water characteristics, combined with the currents from the Bosphorus strait and fresh water flow from various rivers leads to a wide ecologic spectrum. In this research a total of 19 stations were sampled in November 2000 and May 2001. 40 species from 19 genera have been identified, among these species 15 of them Leptocythere macella, L. ramosa, L. lagunae, L. rara, Loxoconcha minima, L. littoralis, Hiltermannicythere rubra, Heterocythereis albomaculata, Cytheroma variabilis, Semicytherura amorpha, Semicytherura rarecostata, Xestoleberis margaritea, Paradoxostoma aff. triste, Argilloecia acuminata and A. minor are new records for recent ostracoda fauna of Turkey.

This article presents the results of the survey held in May 2000. Prestudies for this survey were completed in May, June and July 1999 in order to determine the spots for transect counts. Gokgeada is an Aegean island that is not much known in ornithological aspects historically. During the study, transect counts were undertaken in
ten different transects, representing different habitat types. Authors recorded 63 nonpasseriformes species all of which were determined to be breeding during the study. In addition to its Mediterranean type of maquis, other habitats such as rangelands, .croplands and plantations present suitable breeding habitats to birds. Consequently, the island has an important conservation value and open to future ornithological researches.

First stepts for identification of Ostracoda (Crustacea) fauna of the Marmara Sea were taken, by this study. The material for this research was obtained from ten areas during the months of autumn, 1988 and winter, 1989 and evaluation and classification of materials were made as follows:
Two suborder (Platycopa, Podocopa), one superfamily (Cytheracea), ten families (Cytherellidae, Leptocytheridae, Cytherideidae, Trachyleberididae, Hemicytheridae, Loxoconchidae, Paracytherideidae, Cytheruridae, Xestoleberididae, Paradoxostomatıdae), sixteen genera (Cytherelloidea, Callistocythere, Cyprideis, Trachyleberis, Cythereis, Carinocythereis, Costa, Buntonia, Urocythereis, Loxoconcha, Paracytheridea, Pseudocytherura, Semicytherura, Cytheropteron, Xestoleberis, Paradoxostoma), twenty-five species (Cytherelloidea sp., Calistocythere lobiancoi, Cyprideis torosa, Trachyleberis hystrix, Cythereis tuberculata, Cythereis dunelmensis, Cythereis jonesi, Carinocythereis sp., Carinocythereis aff. antiquata, Carinocythereis antiquata, Carinocythereis quadridentata, Costa edwardsii, Costa batei, Buntonia giesbrachtii, Aurila convexa, Urocythereis britannica, Loxoconcha sp., Loxoconcha rhomboidea, Paracytheridea parallia, Pseudocytherura calcarata, Semicytherura incongruens, Cytheropteron punctatum, Cytheropteron alatum, Xestoleberis sp., Paradoxostoma ensiforme) were determined. Among these species Calistocythere lobiancoi, Cythereis tuberculata, Carinocythereis aff. Antiquata, Buntonia giesbrachtii, are new records for recent ostracoda fauna of Turkey.

The study was performed in Lake Büyukçekmece in 1989 in the spring. summer. autumm and winter months. The
materials collected from 19 stations were evaluated and 25 species (Ilyocypris biplicata. Ilyocypris bradyi,  Ilyocypris gibba.
Physocypria kliei. Eucypris virens. Eucypris zenkeri. Eucypris lutaria. Eucypris hamadanensis. Cyprinotus salinus.Heterocypris
incongruens. Potamocypris villosa. Potamocypris variegate. Potamocypris wolfi. Potamocypris longisetosa. Cypridopsis vidua.
Cyprideis torosa. Umnocythere inopinata. Loxoconcha impressa. Loxoconcha stellifera. Loxoconcha tamarindus. Callistocythere
rostrifera. Aurila prasina. Heterocytherets albomaculata. Semicytherura sulcate. Urocythereis brittanica) belonging to 15 genera
were determined.
Of these species. P. variegata. P. longisetosa. L. tamarindus. C. rostrifera. S. sulcate and H. albomacu/ata are new records of the
Ostracoda fauna for Turkey.

This study was performed in the Kur;ukr;ekmece lake (Istanbul) in spring,
summer, autumn and winter months. The materials collected from 23 stations were evaluated and 13 species belonging to 10 genera were determined: Ilyocypris biplicata, Ilyocypris bradyi, Ilyocypris decipiens, Candona sp, Eucypris virens, Cyprinotus salinus, Heterocypris incongruens, Herpetocypris chevreuxi, Ilyodromus olivaceus, Cypridopsis parva, Potamocypris yillosa, Cyprideis torosa, Cytheretta adriatica. Of these species C. adriatica is a new species for the Ostracoda fauna of Turkey.

In this study the material, collected in August 1989 in th vicinty of Bergama
and Ayvalık from Seventecn different station choosen on the basis of Lagoon area was
examined. And two sub-order (Plalycopa-Podocopa); two süçper family (Cytheracea,
Cypridacea); eight familles; (Cytherellidae, Leptocytheridae, Cytherideidae,
Cushmanideidae, Trachyleberididae, Hemicytheridae, Loxoconchidae,
Pontocyrididae); twenty genera (Cytherella alvearium, Cytherella abyssorum,
Leptocythere pellucida, Cyprideis torasa, Pontocythere elongata, Cythereis
dunelmensis, Hiltermanycythere af. Rubra, Aurila convexa, Aurila woodwardi, Aurila
spayeri, Aurila prasina, Urocythereis britannica, Urocythereis distinquenda, Caudites
calceolatus, Loxoconcha exagona, Loxoconcha impressa, Loxoconcha stellifaera,
Loxoconcha bairdi, Loxoconcha parallela, Pontocypris intermedia) were determined.

This study has been performed in the region of Ayvalık (Balıkesir) in August, in 1989. The material collected from ten stations were evaluated and classified. The results are as follows: 2 super families (CYPRIDACEA, CYTHERACEA); 4 families (ILYOCYPRIDIDAE, CYPRIDIDAE, CYPRIDOPSIDAE, CYTHERIDEIDAE); 6 genera (ılyocypris, Cyprinotus, Heterocypris, Cypridopsis, Stenocypris, Cyprideis); 3 species (Heterocypris incongruens, Cyprinotus inaequivalvis Cypridopsis newtoni, Cypridopsis vidua, Ilyocypris bradyi, Ilyocypris gibba, Stenocypris malcolmsoni, Cyprideis torosa.

Two new species of isopod crustaceans belonging to the genus Stenosoma Leach, 1814 (Valvifera, Idoteidae) are described, illustrated, and compared with the other known species of the genus. The new species can be distinguished both from each other and from all their congeners by having a maxilliped with two coupling hooks; length of the appendix masculina on pleopod II; and an antennal flagellum with 12 articles in Stenosoma aaseni sp. nov.; and by having a pair of distinctive
lateral spinous tubercles on pereonites I-II; and a pereon with a part of a mid-dorsal carina on the posterior half of each of the pereonites in Stenosoma inonuei sp. nov.; the two new species
also differ in the morphology of mouthparts, pleotelson, and pereopods. Both new species were collected from seagrass meadows, colonized predominantly by Zostera (Zostera) marina Linnaeus, 1753 and Posidonia oceanica (Linnaeus) Delile, 1813, in the Sea of Marmara, Turkey. An up-to-date
morphological identification key to species level for to genus Stenosoma is also provided.
