C4P - Cultura em Portugal. Políticas Públicas e Prospectiva
The book describes the creation of the MaB Program, the history of the MaB National Commission, and the history of each of Portugal's Biosphere Reserves. It is the result of research carried out in archives and libraries, critical analysis of documentation provided by the Reserves, research conducted in various local, regional, and national media outlets, information collected as part of the project's development, and, particularly, a set of 212 oral interviews conducted with officials, technicians, and members of the communities within the 12 Biosphere Reserves of Portugal.
The interviews were organized, edited, and indexed using the digital platform Memory for All – www.memoriaparatodos.pt – and are available on the Biosphere Reserves portal – www.reservasdabiosfera.pt. The testimonies provided were essential not only for a deeper understanding of the territories, their economic and sociocultural dynamics, the application processes, or how the status and condition of Biosphere Reserve have been experienced or even appropriated in each territory.
