This situation is reflected in the changes of its coastline territory, given that the uses and control of the coastal territory have negatively affected its prospects and productive potential. This work aims to make a historical account of the factors that have triggered the transformations of the coastal territory of Lake Chapala and, at the same time, how these transformations have affected its productive capacity. Results indicate that, historically speaking, the lake has been subject to excessive use of its resources as determined by the development models followed by the country and based on a poor understanding of lake ecosystems.

La revisión de la literatura reciente sobre el tema muestra que en la investigación científica el paisaje ha sido reducido a su sustrato material, a pesar de constituir un fenómeno relevantemente estético. La literatura predominante sobre el tema habla de geosistemas, ecosistemas y territorios tomados como paisaje, en tanto que escasea el tratamiento de la apropiación paisajística del territorio. El sesgo epistemológico ha conducido a suponer la construcción de paisajes en la Antigüedad y a la afirmación de que todo es paisaje. Se concluye que el paisaje es representación artística o apropiación contemplativa, generadas por la activación de referentes artísticos en las que están ausentes intenciones utilitarias o cognitivas.

Atherinid (Chirostoma spp.) and "pintilla" goodeid Chapalichthys encaustus mean densities ranged between 0.11-2.15 and 0.04-2.92 fish/m 3 , respectively. Atherinids reached maximum densities of 4.28 fish/m 3 near Ajijic city and "pintilla" goodeids peaked at 12.28 fish/m 3 near the municipal discharge of Jocotepec City. Shifts from atherinid dominant to "pintilla" goodeid dominant were detected in areas influenced by municipal discharges from Jocotepec, Ajijic, Chapala and Tizapán cities, and Lerma River inflow. Municipal discharges induced shifts in fish community structure by reducing the abundance of the more profitable atherinids to a level where less profitable goodeids increased in the fish community. Time series modeling of non-stationary atherinid and "pintilla" goodeid density and biomass series revealed two patterns of dynamics in Lake Chapala. We found density-independent Integrated Moving Average (IMA) models for atherinid rates of change in areas influenced by municipal discharges from Jocotepec, Ajijic, Chapala and Tizapán cities, and Lerma River inflow. MA parameters (θ 1) indicated random-shock environmentally-driven time series dynamics. Density-dependent integrated autoregressive (ARI) models were found for atherinid rates of change at all other sampling stations. First-order ARI models found had φ 1 parameters between −1 and 0, which indicated density-dependent quasi-cyclic dynamics through time. Variances explained by ARI models were higher at the western than at the eastern region of Lake Chapala. Rate of dampening of forecasted quasi-cycles for atherinids and pintilla goodeids was higher at the eastern than western region of Lake Chapala. Pollution effect on quasi-cyclic fish population patterns are analogous to overfishing in regards that pollution-induced mortality removes part of the fish stock, and consequently the effect of density-dependent compensatory mechanisms tend to diminish as pollution levels increase. Small, enclosed lake is in a tourist area called "Los Negritos", by the prominences a f... more Small, enclosed lake is in a tourist area called "Los Negritos", by the prominences a few steps from the lake on a perimeter of tens of meters with hot pools and mud bubbles. The lake originally belonged to Lake Chapala, so the group of fish present here derives from that. This is an endorheic vessel with at least one deep water inlet to the center, with a slight salinity (2.14 to 2.38 0/00), which is precisely greater at the point of upwelling and at a depth of approximately 36 m. This study to date has continued to collect and take data, also presents the characteristic of being an area of saline soils and halophilic vegetation. This body of water we consider is as relevant as that of Alchichica in Puebla. In... more The main goal of this paper is to contribute to the clarification of the concept of landscape. In scientific research, the landscape has been minimized to its material subtract, in spite of being a major aesthetical phenomena. We hear about geosystems, ecosystems and territories taken as landscape, nevertheless, we seldom hear about landscaping appropriation of territory. The epistemological bias leads to assume the construction of landscapes in the early times and to state that everything is landscape. We end up with the conclusion that the landscape is an art representation or a contemplative appropriation, generated by the activation of art referents in which there are not any utilitarian or cognitive intentions.

El lago de Chapala ha sufrido grandes transformaciones que han afectado su capacidad productiva. ... more El lago de Chapala ha sufrido grandes transformaciones que han afectado su capacidad productiva. Esta situación se ve reflejada en los cambios del territorio que conforma su ribera, ya que los usos y el control del territorio ribereño han afectado negativamente sus perspectivas y potencial productivo. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo hacer un recuento histórico de factores que han detonado las transformaciones del territorio ribereño del lago de Chapala y, a su vez, cómo estas transformaciones han afectado su capacidad productiva. Los resultados indican que, históricamente, el lago ha sido sometido a un uso excesivo de sus recursos determinado por los modelos de desarrollo que ha seguido el país y de acuerdo con una mala comprensión de los ecosistemas lacustres.

Physical and chemical aspects of the habitat of Macrobrachium americanum (Spence Bate, 1868) were... more Physical and chemical aspects of the habitat of Macrobrachium americanum (Spence Bate, 1868) were measured between 10 and 12 h at the bottom of the sampling stations every two months in a year’s cycle. Temperature ranged from 20.73 to 35.69°C; dissolved oxygen from 1.99 to 6.5 mg/l and from 10.6 to 150% of oxygen saturation; salinity from 0.2 to 1.03‰; pH from 7.25 to 9.19; Turbidity from 24.4 to 123.3 NTU; alkalinity from 141.8 to 358 mg/l and total hardness from 156.6 to 751.9 mg/l. Nitrates, total ammonia, copper, zinc, cadmium and lead were not detectable. Potassium ranged from 2 to 13 mg/l and iron was ⩽0.8 mg/l. These findings will help the development of techniques for the production of M. americanum and suggest that this species is a stronger candidate for large-scale production than M. rosenbergii, where water alkalinity and total hardness are high.

Since 2005, the Interdisciplinary Center of Investigation for the Integral Regional Development (... more Since 2005, the Interdisciplinary Center of Investigation for the Integral Regional Development (CIIDIR), unit Michoacán of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN), began to give the master in Agricultural Sustainable Production. From the beginning the aspirants' selection was realized by means of the development in writing of a topic, review of the curriculum vitae and an interview. This mechanism of selection was useful in his moment due to the insipience of the master. Nevertheless, due to the increasing demand of the master and the needs of certification on the part of the CONACYT, the mechanisms of aspirants' selection must be reinforced, to there formalize and to be allowed a quantitative and qualitative system of admission. It is because of it that there proposes a model of evaluation who includes psicoeducations tests, that allow to know fundamentally, the aptitudes for the learning that the aspirants possess, as well as the cognitive processes developed up to the moment of the request of studies to the master, of great benefit to ensure that the applicant agreed to meet the expectation of terminal efficiency required. This presentation, presents the offer and the results obtained of the application of the tests BARSIT and ACRA as part of the model of selection for the aspirants to the master in Agricultural Sustainable Production of the CIIDIR. This situation is reflected in the changes of its coastline territory, given that the uses and control of the coastal territory have negatively affected its prospects and productive potential. This work aims to make a historical account of the factors that have triggered the transformations of the coastal territory of Lake Chapala and, at the same time, how these transformations have affected its productive capacity. Results indicate that, historically speaking, the lake has been subject to excessive use of its resources as determined by the development models followed by the country and based on a poor understanding of lake ecosystems.
Physical and chemical aspects of the habitat of Macrobrachium americanum (Spence Bate, 1868) were... more Physical and chemical aspects of the habitat of Macrobrachium americanum (Spence Bate, 1868) were measured between 10 and 12 h at the bottom of the sampling stations every two months in a year’s cycle. Temperature ranged from 20.73 to 35.69°C; dissolved oxygen from 1.99 to 6.5 mg/l and from 10.6 to 150% of oxygen saturation; salinity from 0.2 to 1.03‰; pH from 7.25 to 9.19; Turbidity from 24.4 to 123.3 NTU; alkalinity from 141.8 to 358 mg/l and total hardness from 156.6 to 751.9 mg/l. Nitrates, total ammonia, copper, zinc, cadmium and lead were not detectable. Potassium ranged from 2 to 13 mg/l and iron was ⩽0.8 mg/l. These findings will help the development of techniques for the production of M. americanum and suggest that this species is a stronger candidate for large-scale production than M. rosenbergii, where water alkalinity and total hardness are high.

El objetivo de este trabajo es mostrar el proceso creciente de ocupación del suelo agrícola de la ciénaga de Chapala, agudizado a partir de principios del siglo XXI. El método seguido fue el siguiente: delimitación del objeto de investigación, diseño del esquema de investigación, identificación de fuentes de información, diseño de instrumentos de investigación de campo, análisis y fichado de fuentes de información y exposición de resultados. Se encontró que principalmente a los lados de las carreteras Villamar-Jiquilpan, Jiquilpan-Briseñas, Briseñas-Vistahermosa y Vistahermosa-Ixtlán y en sitios cercanos a éstas, se ha instalado una gran cantidad de empresas. Since 2005, the Interdisciplinary Center of Investigation for the Integral Regional Development (... more Since 2005, the Interdisciplinary Center of Investigation for the Integral Regional Development (CIIDIR), unit Michoacán of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN), began to give the master in Agricultural Sustainable Production. From the beginning the aspirants' selection was realized by means of the development in writing of a topic, review of the curriculum vitae and an interview. This mechanism of selection was useful in his moment due to the insipience of the master. Nevertheless, due to the increasing demand of the master and the needs of certification on the part of the CONACYT, the mechanisms of aspirants' selection must be reinforced, to there formalize and to be allowed a quantitative and qualitative system of admission. It is because of it that there proposes a model of evaluation who includes psicoeducations tests, that allow to know fundamentally, the aptitudes for the learning that the aspirants possess, as well as the cognitive processes developed up to the moment of the request of studies to the master, of great benefit to ensure that the applicant agreed to meet the expectation of terminal efficiency required. This presentation, presents the offer and the results obtained of the application of the tests BARSIT and ACRA as part of the model of selection for the aspirants to the master in Agricultural Sustainable Production of the CIIDIR.
