Αναλόγως παρατηρείται αύξηση του ενδιαφέροντος για την ανάπτυξη συστημάτων διασφάλισης της ποιότητας ή/και για την εφαρμογή διεθνών προτύπων ποιότητας στις ακαδημαϊκές βιβλιοθήκες. Ωστόσο, στην χώρα μας, απουσιάζουν εμπειρικές έρευνες για τις επιπτώσεις εφαρμογής των προτύπων στους διάφορους τομείς της οικονομίας. However, lack of health literacy may act as a significant barrier in this process. Patients are expected to make decisions even though they are in an uneven position in terms of knowledge (Bernabeo & Holmboe, 2013; McMullan, 2006). In our research we examined the information seeking behaviour of doctors, their views on cooperation with their patients, and the role that information consultations play in shared decision-making. Our study involved a survey of 162 private general practitioners and private pathologists in Greece. We collected demographic characteristics and self-assessments of doctors using a five point Likert scale. Περίληψη Εισαγωγή: Η ποιότητα των παρεχόμενων υπηρεσιών υγείας αποτελεί πολύ σημαντικό παράγοντα ... more Περίληψη Εισαγωγή: Η ποιότητα των παρεχόμενων υπηρεσιών υγείας αποτελεί πολύ σημαντικό παράγοντα για ένα σύστημα υγείας.Σκοπός: Ο σκοπός της παρούσας διπλωματικής εργασίας ήταν η αποτύπωση του βαθμού ικανοποίησης των ασθενών από τις παρεχόμενες υπηρεσίες υγείας σε δομές Π.Φ.Υ του Δήμου Πατρέων.Υλικό και Μέθοδος: Τα αποτελέσματα της έρευνας προήλθαν από ασθενείς οι οποίοι επισκέφθηκαν τα Κέντρα Υγείας και τα Το.Μ.Υ. και διαμένουν στο Δήμο Πατρέων. Για τη συλλογή των δεδομένων χρησιμοποιήθηκε το ερωτηματολόγιο Europep και η στατιστική ανάλυση έγινε με το στατιστικό πρόγραμμα SPSS-έκδοση 25.Αποτελέσματα: Στην έρευνα συμμετείχαν, 41 άνδρες (42,7%) και 55 γυναίκες (57,3%). Το 40% του δείγματος άνηκε στην ηλικιακή ομάδα 30-39 έτη. Το 42,7% του δείγματος επισκέφτηκε τον ιατρό Γενικής Ιατρικής 2 φορές το τελευταίο χρόνο. Το 53,1% χαρακτήρισε την υγεία του ως «πολύ καλή». Επίσης το 67% του δείγματος έχει Ανώτερη ή Ανώτατη εκπαίδευση και το 66,7% δήλωσε ότι δεν αντιμετώπισε ασθένεια με διάρκεια άνω των 3 μηνών. Η κλίμακα του ερωτηματολογίου που εμφάνισε την θετικότερη εκτίμηση του δείγματος ήταν αυτή που αφορά τη τελική γνώμη για τον ιατρό Γενικής Ιατρικής, ενώ αυτή που κατέγραψε τη χαμηλότερη εκτίμηση ήταν η κλίμακα που αφορά το συντονισμό της φροντίδας του ασθενή. Από τον έλεγχο της έντασης και τη σχέσης μεταξύ των 6 κλιμάκων του ερωτηματολογίου προέκυψε ότι αυτές συσχετίζονται μεταξύ τους σε θετικό και ισχυρό βαθμό, σε στατιστικά σημαντικό επίπεδο. Οι συσχετίσεις των δημογραφικών και κοινωνικών χαρακτηριστικών του δείγματος με τις κλίμακες του ερωτηματολογίου δεν έδειξαν κάποιο στατιστικά σημαντικό αποτέλεσμα, ενώ επιμέρους στατιστικοί έλεγχοι έδειξαν ότι η εκτιμώμενη κατάσταση υγείας έχει μεγάλο αντίκτυπο για την αποτίμηση των πληροφοριών και υποστήριξης του ασθενή.Συμπεράσματα: Η Π.Φ.Υ. είναι από τους βασικότερους πυλώνες του συστήματος υγείας μιας χώρας για αυτό πρέπει να αντιμετωπίζεται με τη δέουσα προσοχή από τους ιθύνοντες χάραξης πολιτικής. Η ανάγκη για αναπροσαρμογή της είναι επιτακτική. Η οικονομική κρίση που βιώνει η χώρα μας δεν βοηθά, για αυτό θα πρέπει να χρησιμοποιηθούν άλλα μέσα που δεν απαιτούν υψηλό κόστος και θα την οδηγήσουν στην ανάπτυξη της. Η καθολική εισαγωγή του συστήματος της Διοίκησης Ολικής Ποιότητας και η ανθρωποκεντρική προσέγγιση των ασθενών από το προσωπικό που εργάζεται στις δομές Π.Φ.Υ. είναι κάποιες επιλογές που θα οδηγήσουν σε αποδοτικότερες υπηρεσίες Π.Φ.Υ.

For keeping up with their professional advances and follow the rapid and multifaceted scientific advances of medical practices they constantly require high quality of information. Internet and the online information resources play an important role towards the satisfaction of continual online information needs of nurses. This paper aims to investigate the online information needs of nurses and their internet seeking behaviour. Moreover, their perceptions for the role of information in nursing profession are studied. A survey informed by the Wilsons macro-model for information seeking behaviour is developed and included 87 registered nurses working at a public hospital. Data analysis involves descriptive statistics and non-parametric tests of correlation and differences between groups.

This work aims in identifying the information needs, the information resources employed and the obstacles physicians encounter when seeking medical information. The sample consisted of 101 military doctors working in a Greek military hospital in Attica. After a thorough literature review, we report on the results of a cross-sectoral sur\vey that was conducted based on Wilson’s macro-model of information-seeking behavior. The survey exploits the feedback we obtained from 150 hospitalized patients in the General Hospital of Corfu island in Greece. For the feedback collection, we relied on a structured questionnaire that was distributed to patients and correlates information-seeking behavior of hospitalized patients’ clinical data and eHealth Literacy. Thyroidectomy, due to malignancy, is usually followed by radioiodine ablation in order to treat r... more Thyroidectomy, due to malignancy, is usually followed by radioiodine ablation in order to treat residual or metastatic disease and ablate remnant thyroid tissue. The aim of this study was to investigate changes in patients’ health-related quality of life (HRQoL) before and after radioiodine ablation (RAI) and identify patients’ characteristics related. We conducted a cross-sectional study of 85 patients aged 20–82 years old who had recently underwent near total thyroidectomy due to papillary-follicular thyroid cancer and were hospitalized in the Iodine Unit of a major hospital to receive RAI. HRQoL was estimated by 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36) at three time points as follows: on the first day of their hospitalization, 3 months after treatment, and 1 year after treatment. Consistent with the previous literature, the results of this study revealed that HRQoL in DTC patients is independent with the majority of the variables examined. All SF-36 scales were significantly improved both times measured post Iodine-131 ( 131 I) administration in comparison with scores prior to RAI ( p < 0.05). One year after treatment, all SF-36 scales scores except from bodily pain and physical role were significantly lower than 3 months post RAI scores ( p < 0.05). The results from this analysis suggest that thyroid cancer and its treatment procedures affect HRQoL across a variety of domains, despite the very good prognosis. HRQoL amelioration post RAI is mainly due to the removal of symptoms of hypothyroidism and familiarization with the treatment process.

For this purpose, a specially designed questionnaire was developed and distributed across 124 undergraduate students. Preliminary analysis using descriptive statistics for items and confirmatory factor analysis is provided. The analysis provides evidence for the relation between students' satisfaction, self-efficacy, and academic performance, and evaluates the role of academic information resources in fulfilling students' information needs. These data are of importance for researchers and practitioners involved with budgetary decisions in academic collections as well as the influence of research specific (rather than training specific) information resources in student satisfaction.

This article presents data that examine the patient's satisfaction from the services of an Emerge... more This article presents data that examine the patient's satisfaction from the services of an Emergency Department in Greece during the economic crisis. 490 questionnaires have been collected for the assessment of patient satisfaction by taking into account criteria like cleanliness, waiting room, access to the hospital, courtesy, friendliness and professional attitude of the emergency department staff, service processes and waiting times. In order to examine the satisfaction levels of the patients and moreover to design possible strategic actions we use the MUSA method.
