BLANCHITSU – INQ28 features again!

I received my copy of the January 2013 White Dwarf today – and was pleased to see that the Blanchitsu series of articles is continuing – and that models that may well be very familiar to you have featured within.

The article features the work of Jakob Rune Nielsen and Migsula – but again Peter “PDH” Hudson’s miniatures have featured – so congratulations to all of you!

It’s very cool to have such evocative and interesting miniatures in the pages of Games Workshop’s main media outlet. If INQ28 (and Inquisimunda) minatures can strike such a chord, then I know we’re doing something right!

INQvitational News

Hey guys!

Since returning from my holiday to Flordia, I’ve sort of been in a hobby stupor; I haven’t really got around to doing too much, and when I tried I found that my superglue had dried up! It looks as though I’ll have to put in a supply run at some stage. Which leads to that eternal question – do I do it through the online store, or do I brave the ‘hard sell’ tactics of the GW staff members?

Leaving such difficult decisions aside for the moment, I’ve used the week or so that I’ve been back to start discussing the INQvitational tournament on Ammobunker. Ammobunker was the site that Steve and I chose to post our INQ28 projects on to begin with. A warm and welcoming community, AB has recently become a firm partner of the INQ28 project with the creation of a new sub-forum on the board devoted entirely to Inquisitor in its various forms. You can see that sub-forum here. Several board members have started to conceptualise and post models of Inquisitors and their retinues, which has me really excited. The sheer versatility and originality that the Inquisition engenders is perfect fodder for modellers or those burnt out with the unrelenting demands of 40k.

And within that sub-forum, you’ll likely notice a thread entitled “the Helios Succession”, which is laying the groundwork for the INQvitational tournament. It is, after all, a group project, and anyone interested in participating is welcome to sign up to Ammobunker and leap into the discussion! (PDH, a good friend of this blog, has recently done so.)

Talking of PDH, he recently helped to set up a thread on DakkaDakka entitled ‘Pimp my Wizard’ – you can see it here – where participants take one of the four new plastic WHFB wizards and convert them to any purpose. It’s a really interesting thread – to the extent that it’s been imitated even on the same forum! I really like some of the results that are coming out of the thread, in particular Migsula’s most recent Inquisitor, which you can see here.

With regards to the Dan Abnett interview, I do still want it to go ahead, as I think it will be a real string in the blog’s bow – although my holiday to Florida put a kink in my plan. Feel free to tweet Dan at (@VincentAbnett) and encourage him to take part!

That’s all I’ve got at the moment (Xbox has been proving far more accessible at the moment, and my gamerscore is ratcheting up…) but hopefully my next update will include some modelling progress.

I hope this update finds you all well,

Mol.
