You're here because you need to write. You're here because, as a child, making up stories in your head came as naturally to you as breathing. You're here because, as an older child, you discovered that writing was a brilliant invention and the application of ink to paper both a sacred and profane art. You're here because you're a waylaid novelist or a casual writer or because you must write or die. You're here because your day job is fine or horrible or wonderful or taxing but, above all, is not enough: you need to write and you need to share. You need a support group of people like you, to respond and harp and critize and support. |

Please only post your original work (though derivative works are acceptable-- as if you're unsure whether what you're writing counts as derivative). Anything original is welcome: your short stories, novels in progress, poems, even essays. Longer posts should be lj-cut. If anyone here doesn't know how to do that, please comment on this post and I will direct you to the livejournal faq page for the command. If there is any sort of explicit content in your work (read: sex or gratuitous violence), please place it behind an lj-cut with a warning. We don't want to accidentally trigger anyone or scandalize them at work. Since this is also a community to encourage its members in their  novel_in_90 endeavor, posts containing word counts (daily, weekly, whatever) or inspirational quotes or observations meant to infuse our flagging spirits with renewed vigor are also more than welcome.To read the rest of the rules, please click here. |

This is an intimate writing community, originally founded to encourage its members in the novel_in_90 endeavor. As such, we prefer to keep things small. An ideal number of members would be 5-6 and we'd prefer not to exceed 10. Therefore, membership is by invitation only: you may send a solicitation e-mail to the moderator (  fireriven) or get yourself recommended by one of the active members. If you send an e-mail to the moderator, be prepared to answer a few questions about yourself and share some of your work via e-mail. |
