(This is a now page, and if you have your site, you should make one, too.)

I have been living in Stuttgart, Germany, since 2016. Time flies! I'm working at the University of Hohenheim as a Full Professor. My chair is called Information Systems and Digital Technologies. This all started in April 2024.

There is a lot to be done when you are a professor in Germany, but it's exciting! Professors here have a lot of freedom, but this comes with the strong responsibilities of an administrative, economic, pedagogical, and research nature. To that end, I have recently taken over the role of study plan director for the BSc Information Systems, and I am still figuring out regulations, quality programs—yes, students never believe this one, but we do care a lot about the quality of our study programs—and how to perform best in this role.

On the teaching side, I am currently putting a lot of focus into our mandatory BSc course on Software Engineering. It is a fundamental piece of the curriculum, and I'm enjoying the process of making it as impactful and interesting as possible.

Other courses I am holding but still working on include software development management, empirical research in information systems, data exploration and visualization, and an oddly shaped course that covers computer networks, server administration, and containers with a practical angle.
