This is the legacy page of science policy forum, which was jointly established by IndiaBioscience, the DST-centre for policy research (CPR), IISc, Bangalore, and Sustainable Water Future Programme. The forum features articles, opinion pieces, events, jobs and grant opportunities in the space of science policy. It also features relevant resources and a discussion space for issues on science policy in India.
The second conference of the Science Journalists’ Association of India (SJAI) was held during 4-5 December 2024 in IISER Pune. Built around the theme ‘The Underreported: Bridging Gaps in Science Journalism’, the meeting showcased a range of innovative engagements formats that fostered discussion and deliberation between journalists, communicators, and scientists.
The day-long SciComm Huddle at the recent India Science Festival (ISF) 2024, held on 19 January 2024 at IISER Pune, marked the first in-person SciComm Huddle. It addressed the current state of science communication (SciComm) in India, with a focus on SciComm's scope, institutional roles, capacity building, and the interface with media, emphasising the need for strategic discussions, diversity, innovative approaches, and rigorous research in the field.
