In the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) community, design patterns are an often used tool for sharing design knowledge among user interface (UI) designers as well as non UI experts. An HCI design pattern consists of several different components. The first component is the structure of a pattern, which encapsulates the description of the problem, its context, and the solution suggested by the pattern. Relationships and semantics are important when design patterns are used in pattern management tools. To make sure that the developed patterns satisfy their users, it is important to evaluate and validate the patterns' content.
