There are various sectors of industries present for which laborers are trained in accordance to their requirements. As workers possess the general health risk of occupational hazards, various labor laws, schemes and policies are undertaken by the government which are implemented by industries, but very few attention for oral health is being given because of which laborers are more progressing towards hidden adverse oral effects which can affect their working efficacy. Various studies on different sector workers were carried out focusing their oral health status but for acid factory workers it is neglected and therefore unrevealed to the society. For this purpose, in this article, though, paucity of literature, still, tries to enlighten the oral health status in acid factory industrial workers with available resources.

These enhancements are also redirected in better oral health in a number of patients since they still retain their natural teeth in old age. As a consequence, prosthodontists are expected to encounter a greater number of patients, especially, the elderly. Also, as elderly population continues to increase in proportion, patients with medically compromised conditions will concomitantly rise. When prosthodontists encounter such patients, they should be aware of the effect of various medical conditions and their effects on dental treatment plans and vice versa. Hence, here is a review of the most essential diseases and their management in prosthodontic treatment modalities.

With chief complaint of spacing in the upper front tooth region, thorough history taking, clinical examination and radiographic evaluation, among various options, the excision of the frenal attachment was planned. Astonishing results with simple surgical correction was proved. In conclusion it can be said that it is important to diagnose effects of frenum attachment on other surrounding structures. Before performing frenectomy, location of frenal attachment is necessary to diagnose and proper technique should be applied.

The physical environment of edentulous mouth is in constant and permanent change. Denture esthetics is the effect produced, which improves beauty and appeal for an individual. For this reason, an artistic effort in treating edentulous patient should follow the change and progression. Dentures must be preceded by the changing physical personality traits of a patient as well as physiological age changes in the tissues. This can be achieved by incorporating personnel characteristic features in teeth and denture bases in order to contribute to a Life-Like appearance. Skilful manuveours performed during denture fabrication will allay in improving the appearance, thus enhancing the esthetics. Conventional treatment planning now not only focuses on restoring the teeth but also engineering it to suite the smile and face. Making and managing dentures with precision is what prosthodontist is work...

Patients and Methods: A total of 885 teeth of 4 groups were examined, comprising with CV disorders; Type I & II DM, Renal stone/ Gall stone & control group. Teeth were examined in Bitewing radiographs & were evaluated. Statistical Analysis Used: Chi-square analysis was used to compare the frequency of occurrence of pulp stones between diseases, sexes & tooth type. Results- Pulp stones were found in 208 (23.5%) of 885 teeth detected. Significantly, higher numbers of pulp stones were recorded in patients with CV disorders (27.46%) than others. The occurrence of pulp stones were significantly higher in molars (39.08%) than premolars (18.29%).The highest Incidence Rate of pulp stone 33.05 % among males was observe...

It is effective for patients undergoing dental treatment. Research studies conducted at Case Western Reserve University have noted that the use of aromatherapy has a significant positive effect on dental anxiety patients. Two-thirds of the patients receiving aromatherapy were more calm and relaxed than those patients without exposure to the scented fragrance oils. Dentists are concerned about patients comfort. Patient should be provided with aromatherapy in dental clinic to reduce dental anxiety. Aromatherapy is also very effective in treating mouth ulcers. Take one drop of orange clove bud tea tree oil to cotton bud and apply to the affected area thrice a day. Clove peppermint or tea tree is very effective in cases of

QoL is increasingly acknowledged as a valid, appropriate and significant indicator of service need and intervention outcomes in contemporary public health research and practice. Objectives: (1) To assess the psychometric properties of oral health impact profile-14 (OHIP-14) scale among rural and urban OHIP of Udaipur population. (2) To assess and compare clinical dental status (dental caries, periodontal disease and prosthetic status) and its impacts on OHRQoL rural and urban population of Udaipur. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive survey was conducted among rural (600) and urban (600) population of Udaipur that have age ranges between 20 and 79 years, chosen from outpatient department of Pacific Dental College and Hospital. The OHIP-14 was tested for validity and reliability. Chi-square, Student's t-test, analysis of variance and multiple logistic regression analysis were employed for statistical analysis. Results: The Cronbach's alpha of the scale was found to be 0.85 among the rural population and 0.89 among the urban population. Prevalence of periodontal disease (community periodontal index and loss of attachment) was found greater among the rural population than the urban population. Urban population showed significantly greater proportion of subjects with prosthesis (including partial, fixed and total) as compared to the rural population. Among study population, OHIP-14 was significantly (P ≤ 0.05) associated with age, gender, presence of decayed teeth (DT), missing teeth (MT), and location. Significantly greater odds ratio (OR) (OHIP-14) were revealed among males (OR = 1.35, P = 0.02), urban residents (OR = 1.13, P = 0.002), those < 45 years of age (OR = 1.23, P = 0.01), those without DT (OR = 1.48, P = 0.002) and without MT (OR = 1.08, P = 0.03). Conclusion: The rural and urban study subjects had a fair clinical status. The presence of dental caries had greatest impacts on OHRQoL. In addition, rural subjects faced greater impact than urban subjects.

Tuberculosis and cryptococcal meningitis are the leading cause of death among people living with HIV. Aim: The purpose of this study was to determine whether any relationship exists between the occurrence of oral lesions and opportunistic infections among HIV-infected patients in Indian population. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional analytical study was performed in 232 HIV-infected persons (148 males and 84 females, aged 20-60 years, mean 33.6 ± 2.3 years). c 2 test and logistic regression were used for statistical analysis. Results: Oral candidiasis was the most common oral lesion seen in 28.4% males and 22.6% females of HIV-infected persons, followed by hairy leukoplakia in 27% males and 20.2% females which was statistically significant. Tuberculosis (21.6%) followed by cryptococcosis (9.9%) and pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (4.7%) were the most commonly found opportunistic infections. Logistic regression analysis revealed a significant association, between the occurrence of tuberculosis and candidiasis (OR 2.3; cryptococcosis and candidiasis (OR 1.4;, and pneumocystis carinii pneumonia with hairy leukoplakia (OR 1.6; 95% CI 1.0-2.9). Mean CD4 count was also less. Conclusions: The results suggest a definite relationship in occurrence of oral lesions and opportunistic infections among HIV-infected patients.
