Sexual satisfaction is an essential component of a healthy and fulfilling relationship, and individuals who experience a lack of fulfillment in their sexual lives may seek satisfaction outside their marriage. Personality traits play a crucial role in determining an individual's propensity for cheating, with several traits commonly associated with a higher likelihood of engaging in infidelity, including low levels of conscientiousness, high levels of impulsivity, narcissism, and a desire for novelty and excitement. While sexual satisfaction and personality traits each contribute to the prediction of cheating, their interaction can further enhance our understanding. Developing reliable predictive models for cheating based on sexual satisfaction and personality traits is a complex task, with researchers using various methods to discern patterns and make accurate predictions. Data analysis techniques, such as logistic regression and machine learning algorithms, have been applied to collected data on married individuals and their tendencies to cheat, achieving moderate success in predictive accuracy. However, it is essential to acknowledge the limitations of these predictions, such as individual circumstances, relationship dynamics, and other external variables that are not accounted for in these models. Privacy concerns and ethical considerations surrounding the monitoring of individuals' personal lives must also be taken into account. These predictive models should be used with caution and in conjunction with comprehensive counseling and support systems to maintain the integrity of relationships.

WM is assumed to play a significant role in extant models of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Using a single-case design with multiple baselines, we applied a computer-based cognitive rehabilitation program with adaptive training of WM tasks on 6 children with ADHD (inattention type) during 15 sessionswith each lasting 30 min-and evaluated the effects of the training. The obtained data were analyzed using visual analysis, percentage of recovery, and Reliable Change Index. The findings suggested that the program significantly enhanced the trainee's performance in abilities pertaining to central executive functioning (CE), phonological loop (PH), and visuospatial sketchpad (VS) subsystems of WM. These results demonstrate that performance on WM tasks can be significantly improved by training, implying that that WM training has the potential to be of clinical use for ameliorating the symptoms of ADHD.

Considering the multifactorial nature and increasing prevalence of obesity, many techniques have been proposed for its treatment, ranging from behavioral interventions to surgeries, but they are often ineffective, invasive, and costly. Furthermore, relapse and weight regain are common. Non-invasive brain stimulation techniques hold promise for modulating food-related brain processes and functions in these patients, potentially through increasing top-down control in response to food cue that supports reduction in calorie intake. Previous findings revealed that transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) over dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC), a target site related to executive functions that support cognitive control of food craving, modulates the reward–control balance towards facilitation of cognitive control and possibly suppression of reward-related mechanisms that drive food cue-induced cravi...

The research was a semiexperimental, pretestposttest-follow up with control group. 40 students with high depression in Beck Depression Inventory (1972) and low hope in Miller Hope Scale (1988) were selected by multistage sampling and assigned randomly to two experimental (n=20) and control (n=20) groups. The experimental group participated in 10 sessions of group logotherapy. Then, inventories were administrated again as the post-test and 1 month follow up to both groups. The results of analysis of covariance showed that the mean of depression in the experimental group was significantly less and the mean of hope was significantly more than those of the control group both at the postand follow-up tests (P<0.01).

This study examines the mediation effects of social support (from family, friends, and significant others) that accounted for the link. Participants were 2023 university students (47.7% male). Structural equation modeling showed partial mediation effect of social support between psychological well-being and health-risk behaviors. In particular, social support from family and friends jointly mediated about 80 percent of the effect of life satisfaction and hopelessness on drinking. These results offered novel evidence that helps improve theorizing the mechanisms of the relationship between psychological well-being and health-risk behaviors. They also highlighted the potential benefits of soci...

A total of 80 adolescents from 2 intervention townships and 80 adolescents from 2 control townships were enrolled in a group randomized controlled trial with assessments at baseline and 6 months follow-up. The mindfulness intervention involved monthly group sessions for 3 consecutive months led by an experienced mindfulness trainer. Three domains of psychological behaviors—namely, emotional, conduct, and social behaviors—were assessed at baseline and compared after 6 months. Multilevel regression analysis was used to determine the effectiveness of the intervention and associated factors for psychological behaviors. The intervention significantly improved emotional and conduct behaviors at 6 months ( P < .001) but had no effect on social behavior. The significant effect of the intervention existed...

Many factors, including moral intelligence, play a protective role against the psychological damage of these families. This study aimed to design and validate the psychometric properties of the moral intelligence measure for the adolescent children of veterans. Instruments & Methods For this descriptive correlational research with the experimentation approach, a sample of 325 adolescent girls and boys aged from 14 to 18 years living in Tehran in 2019, who were studying in the first and second secondary schools were selected using the available methods from regions 2 and 5. Then, from each of those areas, 4 schools (2 girls 'schools and 2 boys' schools) were selected by simple random sampling, and finally the students of 14 classes answered the designed moral intelligence questionnaire and Maslow's self-actualization. Exploratory factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha and Pearson correlation coefficient were used to design and validate the questionnaire's psychometric properties. Data using software SPSS 21 were analyzed. Findings To extract the underlying factors of the 70-item Moral Intelligence Questionnaire, the Kaiser-Mir-Oliken (KMO) index was equal to 0.858, and the Bartlett spherical index was equal to 7208.51 and was statistically significant at the level of 0.01. Based on the common meanings of the items, the first component was "maintaining the dignity of others", the second component was "adherence to principles", the third component was "moral sensitivity", the fourth component was "moral self-efficacy" and the fifth component was "ego empowerment". Based on Cronbach's alpha coefficients' results obtained more than 0.7 for the components and a positive and significant correlation coefficient (p<0.01), the questionnaire was reliable and valid. The Moral Intelligence Scale is a reliable and valid tool as a model for measuring moral intelligence in the adolescent children of veterans in Tehran concerning socio-cognitive changes in Iranian society.

Is ischemic preconditioning intervention occlusion-dependent to enhance resistance exercise perfo... more Is ischemic preconditioning intervention occlusion-dependent to enhance resistance exercise performance? J Strength Cond Res XX(X): 000-000, 2019-Ischemic preconditioning is a rising technique with potential to improve performance. Currently, its effects are still controversial, and a placebo effect seems to have a role. In this sense, this study evaluated the effect of high-pressure (HP) and low-pressure (LP) cuffing on resistance exercise performance during repeated 5day intervention. Twenty healthy trained men (24.0 6 4.4 years; 80.1 6 12.2 kg; and 176.9 6 6.6 cm) performed a 1 repetition maximum (1RM) test before interventions. Maximal isometric force test, number of repetitions (75% 1RM), total workload (sets 3 reps 3 load), fatigue index (FI) ([set 1 2 set 3]/set 1 3 100), and perceived scales were assessed during knee extension preceded by HP (3 3 5-minute unilateral leg occlusion at 50 mm Hg above systolic blood pressure), LP (3 3 5-minute unilateral leg occlusion at 20 mm Hg), or control ([CON] 30minute resting). The main effect of cuff intervention was significant for total workload (F(1,16) 5 4.2, p 5 0.03) after adjusting for baseline (analysis of covariance). Adjusted means (confidence interval) and effect sizes (ES) indicate that HP (1778 kg [1,613-1944]; ES: 0.29) and LP (1761 kg [1,590-1932]; ES: 0.34) significantly increased total workload compared with CON (1,452 kg [1,262-1,643]; ES: 0.17). Finally, isometric force and FI were similar for all conditions (HP, LP, and CON) with no difference from baseline performance. In conclusion, the short-term (5-day) intervention of HP and LP cuffing increases the total workload. This effect in muscle endurance performance is nondependent of blood flow occlusion, since LP is not able to obstruct arterial blood flow. A likely motivational effect cannot be ruled out.

The research design was quasi-experimental, with comparisons across pre-test, post-test, and control groups. Sixteen students with ADHD who ranged in age from 7 to 11 years old (Mage=8.67 years) were recruited and randomly assigned to an experimental or a control group. The experimental group received different types of response inhibition training over 12 sessions, while the control group received no training. When the data were analyzed with Multivariate Analysis of Covariance, receipt of the inhibition training problem, relative to control, was associated with a reduction in ADHD symptoms and an improvement in social skills. In this instance, response inhibition training was demonstrated as effective for children with ADHD.
