Herbal therapy is one of the most widely used by pregnant woman to resolve their health complaints. This study aims to determine the health complaints as indications of herbal use, the types of herbs used, and the safety status of the herbs used during pregnancy. A literature search for cross-sectional studies from 2010 to 2020 was conducted on ScienceDirect, BMC, MedCrave, and JACM using predefined keywords. The literature's quality assessment in this study uses the JBI (Joanna Briggs Institute) Quality Assessment Tool for qualitative studies. The safety status of herbs was carried out based on 3 available sources. This study includes 6 crosssectional studies (2189 participants) from Europe, Asia, and Africa with a total of 1176 (53.7%) pregnant woman used herbal medicine. Various health complaints were reported, especially common cold (28%); nausea-vomiting (21%); and UTI (10%). Of the 25 types of herbs found, 7 herbs species were classified safe, 5 herbs species classified as potentially harmful, and the remaining 13 types has unknown safety status. Thus, 649 (64.7%) pregnant women using safe herbal, 59 (5.8%) using potentially harmful herbs, and 294 (29.3%) using herbs with unknown safety status. Based on further studies, it was found that the herbs with unknown safety status contain various substances that might cause side effects in pregnancy. Many pregnant women use herbal for health complaints during pregnancy, and some consumed herbal that might risk their pregnancy.

There are strains of MRSA isolated from hospitals that were found to be resistant towards benzalkonium chloride. This research was aimed to compare the affectivity of different concentrations of benzalkonium chloride to inhibit the growth of Hospital-Associated MRSA (HA-MRSA) and determine the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of benzalkonium chloride against HA-MRSA. Methodology and results: The samples were five HA-MRSA isolates obtained from Dr. Soetomo Hospital Surabaya. It was identified by amplification of SCCmec genes. The HA-MRSA with SCCmec type III was divided into six flasks based on the concentration of benzalkonium chloride in their inoculation media (0 ÎĽg/mL, 0.625 ÎĽg/mL, 1.25 ÎĽg/mL, 2.5 ÎĽg/mL, 5 ÎĽg/mL, and 10 ÎĽg/mL). The growth of HA-MRSA in media was determined by the number of colonies after treatment. The result showed that the MIC of benzalkonium chloride for HA-MRSA was 5 ÎĽg/mL, where no growth of bacterial was observed. There was significant difference in MRSA colony count between different groups of benzalkonium chloride concentrations (p = 0.001), and there was negative correlation between benzalkonium chloride concentration and HA-MRSA growth (p = 0.0001 and r =-0.880). Conclusion, significance and impact of study: The concentration of benzalkonium chloride influences the growth of HA-MRSA. The higher the concentration, the fewer HA-MRSA growth. Application of benzalkonium chloride according to MIC will prevent HA-MRSA resistance towards benzalkonium chloride.

Heart is one of the main target organs because it is the highest ROS producer. Malondialdehyde (MDA) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) are two biomarkers often used to evaluate oxidative stress. Due to their antioxidant properties, curcumin and nano curcumin are expected to protect heart from cardiotoxicity caused by oxidative stress. Methods: This is a systematic review of experimental studies available in the literature that reported the curcumin and/or nano curcumin and oxidative stress analyzed through the levels of MDA and SOD in heart of rats. Results: There are 8 out of 8 articles that prove a decrease in cardiac MDA levels after curcumin administration. Seven of them gave significant results with p-value <0.05. Meanwhile, one article stated there is no significant p-value, which is 0.187. A significant increase in SOD levels was shown to occur after curcumin administration in 6 of the 6 articles obtained. Not only curcumin, but nano curcumin can also reduce MDA levels and increase SOD levels of heart significantly. In 4 articles that directly compared the two antioxidants, nano curcumin was able to provide more significant results even at lower doses. Conclusion: Both curcumin and nano curcumin are capable to decrease the level of cardiac MDA and increase the level of cardiac SOD. Nano curcumin is a more effective cardioprotector compared to curcumin through MDA and SOD level analysis in rats.

Inflammation and oxidative stress are 2 factors that play an important role in Chronic Kidney Dis... more Inflammation and oxidative stress are 2 factors that play an important role in Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). Controlling these 2 factors is expected to give better kidney functions outcomes. Statins have anti-inflammatory and antioxidative stress effects apart from their lipid-lowering effect. In this study, we want to analyze that statin might be one of a renoprotective agent through their pleiotropic effect as an anti-inflammation and anti-oxidative in CKD patients. This is a cross-sectional study that enrolled of 40 patients with CKD: 20 patients consumed statin and 20 patients did not consume statin. We compared HDL; inflammatory markers: high sensitive-C reactive protein (hs-CRP), absolute neutrophil count, absolute leukocyte count, absolute eosinophil count, and neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR); and oxidative stress marker malondialdehyde (MDA) with kidney functions (GFR, cystatin c, BUN, albumin urine, and creatinine serum) between groups. Then we analyze the correlation between HDL, inflammatory markers, and oxidative marker with kidney functions. The results are HDL and MDA had a correlation with all the kidney function, hs-CRP correlated with GFR, cystatin c, and BUN, and NLR correlated with GFR, cystatin c, BUN, and creatinine serum. Statin group significantly have lower hs-CRP, NLR, and MDA. HDL, absolute neutrophil, leukocyte, and eosinophil count are lower in the statin group but not significantly. All the kidney function markers significantly have a better outcome in the statin group. This study concludes that lowering inflammation and oxidative stress levels using statin could be one of the strategy therapies in CKD to achieve better kidney function outcomes.

In Indonesia, the first case of a Covid-19 patient was identified on 2 March, 2020, in Depok. For now (30 July, 2021), confirmed cases in Indonesia had reached 3,372,374 cases, and 92,311 of them died. Therefore, preventive measures are needed so that the chain of Covid-19 spread in Indonesia is broken, one of which is vaccination. For now, Indonesia is in the process of accelerating vaccination coverage. It has been given to people in the 12-17 year age group, the majority of which are in high school (SMA). Based on SDGs point 4, namely quality education, especially in the field of basic education. Educational steps were taken for the community, especially high school students in several schools in Indonesia, by making online counseling activities and seeing an increase in students' understanding of knowledge related to Covid-19 vaccination. Before the counseling begins, participants will be given a questionnaire in the form of a pre-test to determine the knowledge of high school students before the counseling. After the counseling is carried out, the counseling participants will also be given a post-test to see if there is an increase in the knowledge of high school students regarding the Covid-19 vaccination. In this study, there were 157 respondents who filled out the pre-test and post-test. The results of this study showed that there was an increase in students understanding of Covid-19 vaccination after online counselling.
