The objective of this study was to record and compare the effect of mouse type on index finger an... more The objective of this study was to record and compare the effect of mouse type on index finger and wrist angle deviation and on time duration to complete the assigned task. After performing the statistical analyses for the data of finger flexion angle , wrist extension and ulnar deviation, the results, showed that the flexion angle, wrist extension and ulnar deviation to complete the task were dependent on the mouse geometries. The wrist injuries were mostly due to awkward posture and improper support. This extension of wrist can be reduced by using the keypad.

A piston is a component of reciprocating engines. Its purpose is to transfer force form expanding... more A piston is a component of reciprocating engines. Its purpose is to transfer force form expanding gas in the cylinder to the crank shaft via piston rod and a connecting rod. It is one of the most complex components of an automobile. In some engines the piston also acts as a valve by covering and uncovering ports in the cylinder wall. In present, work a three dimensional solid model of piston including piston pin is designed with the help of CATIA and SOLIDWORKS software. The thermal stresses, mechanical stresses and couples thermo-mechanical stresses distribution and deformations are calculated. After that fatigue analysis was performed to investigate factor of safety and life of the piston assembly using ANSYS workbench software. Aluminium-silicon composite is used as piston material. The stress analysis results also help to improve component design at the early stage and also help in reducing time required to manufacture the piston component and its cost.

Spiral tubes are widely used in various engineering applications like heat transfer among various... more Spiral tubes are widely used in various engineering applications like heat transfer among various fluids, refrigeration applications and many more. The optimum spiral tube can improve efficiency of the system. So various research is carried out on spiral tubes design and process parameters in previous decades. In present paper effect of friction factor is studied for spiral tube by chaining its process and design parameters. The present study is based on CFD simulation technique. Experiments are designed using "Taguchi Method". The three process parameters which are identified for this study is wall temperature of surface, fluid inlet temperature and mass flow rate of fluid. Three design parameter which are selected for this study are inner diameter of tube, pitch of tube and curvature ratio of tube. Total six parameters are selected and then experiment table is generated using Taguchi method and 36 experiments are generated which are then simulated using Ansys Fluent (Version 14.5) software. Experiment validation is performed using previous experiment work on spiral tube. Friction factor is response parameter selected for this study and the analysis is performed using Signal to noise ratio parameter. To improve the effect of pressure-drop or decrease the friction factor in spiral tube the most reliable parameter is inner diameter of tube and least parameter is wall temperature of tube. Pitch is another important parameter for friction factor analysis.

In present research work the effect of process and design parameters of the horizontal spirally c... more In present research work the effect of process and design parameters of the horizontal spirally coiled flow tube, are investigated using CFD simulation and DOE techniques. In this research work total, six parameters are selected which are mass flow rate of water flow in the tube, water inlet temperature, heating surface temperature which is made of copper tube, tube inner diameter having 3 mm thickness, curvature ratio of tube and pitch of tube. The experiment table is made by using a mixed Taguchi method which generates a total of 36 cases for this research study. Experimental validation is also performed with previously published research work [01] to show a good agreement among CFD simulation and experiment results. The error among the simulation and experiment results are in a range of 3% to 12% max, which is acceptable for further research work. The results are then analyzed by using the signal to noise ratio which shows the rank among all parameters and as well as the best optimal solution for a selective response. In the present study, the research work is focused on Nusselt Number analysis.

Improper layout, uncontrolled process, inefficient due date management, non-standardized transportation of semi-finished goods all together, less automation, uncertain demand, lack of training of workers, leads to ineffective and delayed production or prolonged production time. The above scenario was studied using a three wheeler manufacturing company of Kanpur called “ABC Auto”. Time and motion study was conducted in their manufacturing plant to quantify their process. The resulting model of ABC Auto was simulated with the help of ARENA. The geometry of Model is a three-dimensional turbulent flow over a 90° bend. Experimental setup comprising an open-circuit suction wind tunnel system for the 90° bend which is used in ducting of centralized A. C. plant in various buildings or Malls. This test case focuses on the use of approximate models such as the turbulence models to predict the physical characteristics of the turbulent flow around a 90° bend. The results from the more sophisticated Reynolds stress model are shown to better capture the anisotropy behavior of the flow in contrast to the standard k-ε model that assumes isotropy in its original model formulation and also k-w SST model use to comparison. Finite Volume Discretization (FVM) is employed to approximate the governing equation. Velocity and pressure distribution at bend show by simulation of fluent CFD Code. By increasing the bend length in duct, losses can be reduce.
