This vocabulary marches straight down the Most Frequent Word list compiled by Moshe Koppel of Bar... more This vocabulary marches straight down the Most Frequent Word list compiled by Moshe Koppel of Bar-Ilan University. Vocabulary is acquired at a rate of 12 new words/week. By the end of 1st semester, students will have studied 156-180 words and forms which occur in the Zohar between 850-11,460 times. / Contents: (p.1-6): Vocabulary Stam, divided by week; (p.7-12): Class List Vocabulary, with 1-3 most common meanings; (.13-18): Master Vocabulary, with full range of meanings used in the Zohar and cross-references to previous weeks. / Pp.1-12 have proven of profit to students, with pp. 13-18 a useful teaching tool. / The pdf is bookmarked. The “Subject Index” incorporates that material and expands it with open access articles, chapters, and even full books. There are over 600 subjects and 5,000 hyperlinks in the current revision. But regrettably, as discussed in the Preface, its format does not reach the level of our time. The field can do better.

However, the book did not appear until July 2019 [sic]. The intervening six years saw a plethora of research on the Zohar, including lexical and grammatical material. A reflection paper is anticipated which will bring my portion up to date.

At an unspecified date in the early 21st century, his monumental achievement was made available online. The present little study draws upon subsequent work with Aramaic inscriptions and incantation bowls to update some of his findings.
