However, EBP is relatively new in developing countries, so it is critical to maximise the scarce healthcare resources. EBP training improves the use of evidence in healthcare practice, but the differences between countries necessitate speci c interventions. In this study, semi-structured in-depth interviews were used, and twelve participants were a su cient sample size to achieve rich data saturation . Using thematic analysis, seven themes were generated from the study, although four themes are presented here. These include EBP is a new concept at Mak-CHS. The importance of EBP in healthcare delivery involves working with stakeholders in EBP education and teaching EBP. The results also showed that there are several institutional and individual constraints that prevent lecturers and students from using EBP. These include, but are not limited to, a lack of EBP skills and resources. To increase EBP knowledge, skills, attitude, and behaviour among lecturers and healthcare students, it is essential to incorporate EBP into the curricula of undergraduate healthcare students, train lecturers, and work with all stakeholders at all levels of management so that the required resources are available for EBP implementation. This study suggests that putting EBP into practice necessitates institutional and interdisciplinary collaboration as well as personal commitment.

Twelve BAME adults participated in the interviews: six were female, ten were first-generation migrants, three were retirees, none lived with a disability, and all were concerned about their excess weight. There were four themes from the data and eight subthemes obtained. To improve the uptake of the weight management service provided in Medway, the participants recommended the use of strategies such as indigenous food labelling, BAME-led clinics, the use of translated leaflets, the recruitment of local weight management champions, better coordination of services, appropriate communication strategies, and further research. This study investigated a small sample of English-speaking participants, which may not represent all people from BAME backgrounds in Medway and across the United Kingdom (UK). This study investigated the perspectives of residents who are overweight or obese, as well as weight management concerns among ethnically diverse adults. It also investigated how to increase the use of weight management services in Medway, England. In Medway, 69.2% of adults are living with overweight or obesity, which is considerably higher than the national average of 62%. Indigenous food labelling, BAME-led clinics, the use of translated leaflets, the recruitment of local weight management champions, better coordination of services, appropriate communication strategies, and further research are essential ingredients that can be used to improve access to and uptake of weight management programmes in BAME communities.

Body dissatisfaction is a psychological aspect of obesity that has been associated with disordered eating, low self-esteem, and depression. Nevertheless, body image dissatisfaction may affect non-obese individuals too. Those with a positive body image are more likely to participate in physical activity than those with a negative body image. Individuals who are satisfied with their body image are more likely to possess high self-esteem, confidence, and healthy eating habits. Obesity prevention among the black population is increasingly important. This study sought to examine the perceptions and experiences of British-born Afro-Caribbean male students at a West Yorkshire University in England regarding obesity, body image, and mental health. Twelve participants took part in 45-minute semi-structured interviews. The data was transcribed verbatim and analyzed using th...

This study will explore some of the reasons with a focus on the perceptions towards physical activity in the lifestyle prevention of diseases. It will also seek to elicit a range of facilitators and barriers towards improving physical activity lifestyle choices amongst UK BAME adults, including but not limited to those in the individual, structural, environmental and social domains. Furthermore, it will consider the role of ethnicity and culture in the forming of physical activity lifestyle choices. This study was conducted to explore the facilitators and inhibitors of making healthy physical activity lifestyle choices amongst UK BAME adults during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study will involve 2 phases: a systematic review and a qualitative study phase. The systematic review will be conducted using the PECO (Population, Exposure,...

As found within the recent COVID-19 pandemic these can have wider reaching implications including increased risk of mortality within this population group. Understanding the potential social determinants of the causes of obesity is essential if effective strategies are to be developed to tackle this. A comprehensive search of the CINAHL, ASSIA and Web of Science databases was undertaken with 148 papers identified. Through application of inclusion and exclusion criteria two papers were included within this review. Inductive content analysis was undertaken, through which four conceptual categories were identified: impact of social culture, the "limitless" consequences of empowerment, the power of know...

There has been an affected global increase in the rates of women living with HIV/AIDS. Among young women, especially in developing countries, infection rates are rapidly increasing. This book is going to focus on Uganda as an example of a developing country and our Preventative International Care (Non-governmental organisation).Preventative care international (PCI) is NGO (Nongovernmental Organisation) founded in 2013. Aims at preventing HIV in women, children and adult men. The PCI Organisation aimed at preventing HIV in women, children and adult men, to have a free community that is free from HIV/AIDS and reproductive health challenges and to sensitise both rural and urban areas on dangers of STIs, HIV and AIDS. Many of these women are also mothers with children. When a woman is labelled, stereotyped as having HIV, she is treated with suspicion and her morality is being questioned. Current research has suggested that women living with HIV/AIDS can be affected by delay in diagnosis, inferior access to health care services, internalised stigma and a poor utilisation of health services. This makes it extremely difficult for women to take care of their own health needs. Women are also reluctant to disclose their HIV-positive status as they fear this may result in physical feelings of shame, social exclusion, violence, or expulsion from home. Women living with HIV/AIDS who are also mothers carry a particularly heavy burden of being HIV-infected. This book can be used as evidence for health care providers to implement socially and culturally appropriate services to assist individuals and groups who are living with HIV/AIDS in many societies.
