Seasonal ARIMA models are explored and tested. Seasonal ARIMA(2,1,2)(2,0,3)4 is found to be the best model that fits quarterly sugarcane yields from 1973-2015. Sugarcane yields data collected quarterly from 1973-2014 is used for modeling and SARIMA (2,1,2)(2,0,3)4 model is fit and 2015 quarterly forecasts are compared against the actual quarterly yields in 2015. If all factors are held constant, the model predicted a drop in sugarcane yields in 2016 to 60 (95% CI: 34.58, 84.69) tonnes of cane per hectare (tch) in 2016, 54 (95% CI: 26.24, 82.43) tch in 2017 and 51.48 (95% CI: 21.51, 81.45) tch in 2018. A steady increase would be observed again from 2020-2024.

Cell transplantation has gained attention as a prospective therapeutic option for neurotraumatic disorders like TBI. The postulated mechanism of cell transplantation which includes angiogenesis, axonal regeneration, neurogenesis and synaptic remodeling, may tackle the pathology of chronic TBI and improve overall functioning. Methods: To study the effects of cell transplantation, 50 patients with chronic TBI were enrolled in an open label nonrandomized study. The intervention included intrathecal transplantation of autologous bone marrow mononuclear cells and neurorehabilitation. Mean follow up duration was 22 months. Fifteen patients underwent second dose of cell transplantation, 6 months after their first intervention. Percentage analysis was performed to analyze the symptomatic improvements in the patients. Functional independence measure (FIM) was used as an outcome measure to evaluate the functional changes in the patients. Statistical tests were applied on the pre-intervention and post-intervention scores for determining the significance. Comparative Positron Emission Tomography-computed tomography (PET CT) scans were performed in 10 patients to monitor the effect of intervention on brain function. Factors such as age, multiple doses, time since injury and severity of injury were also analyzed to determine their effect on the outcome of cell transplantation. Adverse events were monitored throughout the follow up period. Results: Overall 92% patients showed improvements in symptoms such as sitting and standing balance, voluntary control, memory, oromotor skills lower limb activities, ambulation, trunk & upper limb activity, speech, posture, communication, psychological status, cognition, attention and concentration, muscle tone, coordination, activities of daily living. A statistically significant (at p ≤ 0.05 with p-value 0) improvement was observed in the scores of FIM after intervention on the Wilcoxon signed rank test. Better outcome of the intervention was found in patients with mild TBI, age less than 18 years and time since injury less than 5 years. Ten patients who underwent a repeat PET CT scan brain showed improved brain metabolism in areas which correlated to the symptomatic changes. Two patients had an episode of seizures which was managed with medication. They both had an abnormal EEG before the intervention and 1 of them had previous history and was on antiepileptics. No other major adverse events were recorded.

Methods of analysis of daily rainfall records based on Markov chain models have been available for many years and their value is widely recognized. However they are rarely used because of the complexity of their analysis. This paper describes how these models are being made more accessible through a series of specially written procedures and menus in GenStat, a widely available statistics package.

Kenya is not left out since the demand by the stakeholders in the Kenya sugar industry for new improved sugarcane varieties is high. The economic value of improving such sugarcane traits has not been incorporated in many of the sugarcane selection program including the one for Kenya Sugar Research Foundation (KESREF). This research was designed to construct an economic selection index that combines both cane and sugar yields according to their economic values. Breeding experimental trial was established and the convectional KESREF sugarcane breeding program followed from stage 1 to 5, though the selection index was used in stage 3 to 5.A randomized complete block (RCBD) was used in all the stages to randomize the treatments and agronomic and quality traits data were collected. It is paramagnetic at room temperature and antiferromagnetic at liquid nitrogen temperature. The chemical and magnetic unit cells are of the same size, The magnetic moment directions and the positions of the 4 uranium atoms in the magnetic cell are, + : 0 0 0; l/2 l/2 0 and -: l/2 0 l/2 ; 0 l/2 l/2. They are aligned ferromagnetically in each layer but oppositely aligned in alternating layers perpendicular to (001) plane. The symmetry of the chemical cell is cubic but of the magnetic cell tetragonal. The atomic magnetic moment at liquid nitrogen temperature is 1.72 kO.02 Bohr magnetons. A magnetic form-factor curve for the uranium atoms is given.

However, more than 2 million children in the developing countries still die from pneumonia each year. The eorts to promptly detect, eectively treat and control the spread of pneumonia is possible if its dynamics is understood. In this paper, we develop a mathematical model for pneumonia among children under ve years of age. The model is analyzed using the theory of ordinary dierential equations and dynamical systems. We derive the basic reproduction number, R0, analyze the stability of equilibrium points and bifurcation analysis. The results of the analysis shows that there exist a locally stable disease free equilibrium point, E f when R0 1.The analysis also shows that there is a possibility of a forward bifurcation.

Thus, the sector has a significant role and contribution to GDP. In this study, Box-Jenkins seasonal ARIMA time series modeling approach is used to develop a model that best describes the quarterly agricultural gross domestic product of Kenyan economy. Agricultural gross domestic product data collected quarterly from 2000-2014 at constant 2001 prices is used for modeling. From the analysis, SARIMA(1, 0, 0)(1, 1, 0)4 was found to be the best model describing the quarterly agricultural gross domestic product of Kenyan economy.

The 3rd goal of the Sustainable Development Goals aims at reducing infant deaths that occur due to preventable causes by 2030. Due to increased infant mortality the Kenyan government introduced Free Maternal Health Care as an intervention towards reducing infant mortality through elimination of the cost burden of accessing medical care by the mother and the infant. The study examines the impact of Free Maternal Health Care on infant mortality using Intervention time series analysis particularly the intervention Box Jenkins ARIMA (Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average) model. There was significant support that Free Maternal Health Care had a significant impact on infant mortality which was estimated to be a decrease of 10.15% in infant deaths per month.
