Facing the inexistence of methods of analysis and comparison of some types of waterproofing syste... more Facing the inexistence of methods of analysis and comparison of some types of waterproofing systems, this work's main objective is to present a simple and practical method that can be used on most common cases. In a first phase the main characteristics of the solutions, and its costs, are studied and gathered in different groups, just like their costs. In a second phase of the investigation where created methods of classification to the main characteristics in order to construct tables that allowed a fast and easy reading of the final results and there for to get the best solution. Carried through this 2ª phase it gets us to take out some conclusions. The main one is that the membranes of PVC are the ones that get the best final classification, however and for more specific cases with another type of conditions this may not be verified, for what it's recommended to analyze all the variants before choosing which solution to adopt.

Nesse caso, a certo vetor a corresponde certo vetor b. A lei só estará determinada após o conhecimento de fi, o que se consegue através de medições diretas dessa grandeza. Esse artigo trata da forma de determinação indireta de f, medindo-se, de forma direta (ou, mesmo, indireta), pares de vetores correspondentes a e b. As incertezas das medições dos vetores a's e b's são consideradas através de um exemplo numérico e a incerteza de fi pode ser avaliada.

Esse trabalho apresenta parâmetros que norteiam a concepção de equipamento de laboratório destina... more Esse trabalho apresenta parâmetros que norteiam a concepção de equipamento de laboratório destinado a avaliar lajes e vigas em escala natural, com carga, e em situação de incêndio. Parâmetros de interesse, como dimensões internas, taxas de elevação da temperatura com o tempo, infraestrutura para instalação do equipamento, entre outros, são avaliados à luz de normatização nacional e internacional em vigor. Ao final, espera-se que esse relato de exercício de concepção e construção do primeiro forno horizontal brasileiro estimule a construção de futuros equipamentos desse tipo, auxiliando pesquisadores nacionais e internacionais da área a iniciar semelhante, e árdua, empreitada.
Ductility is, in a general way, a good measure of the inelastic deformation capacity that a struc... more Ductility is, in a general way, a good measure of the inelastic deformation capacity that a structure can support when submitted to a seismic action, without occurring a significant lost of its structural integrity. The primary aim of this study is trying to demonstrate that the ductility's requirements of a structure vary according to the type of the seismic action. Employing a seismic action with very regular characteristics, a simple structure of reinforcement concrete was dimensioned, assuming a definite behaviour coefficient. Subsequently, this structure is submitted to the actuation of other seismic actions, with characteristics that differ considerably among them. The distance to the epicentre and the type of soil where the structure is implemented are the major characteristics that distinguish the seismic actions employed. It will be demonstrated that situations where the seismic actions are the impulsive type, typical feature of proximal actions, can lead to very different ductility's requirements of those obtained to a more regular action. The influence of the foundation soil's type in the distribution of the ductility's requirements in the structure is also analysed.
