A longitudinal, multicenter, and prospective study was performed evaluating 65 children with GT feeding and chronic diseases (61.5% with neurological disease). Each child was evaluated three times (at baseline and at 6 and 12 months after GT placement) and the following data was collected: primary diagnosis, age at GT placement, anthropometry, and feeding regime. Repeated measures ANOVA were used to analyze the main effects (intra and intergroup) and the interactions effects on weight gain and linear growth at 6 and 12 months after GT placement. All patients significantly improved their body mass index (BMI)-forage z-score (p < 0.001) and height-forage z-score (p < 0.05) after 6 and 12-month of follow-up. BMI gain increased significantly the first 6 months, followed by a plateau, while height followed a linear trend. Children with GT placement before 18 months old experienced an accelerated growth rate during the first 6 months post-GT. This technique showed the effectiveness of GT placement improving nutritional status and growth catch up regardless of their primary diagnosis and the type of nutritional support.

The factors in the choice of musical instruments and how it influences and modifies the personality of the musicians are a common theme in research. However, less attention has been given to the formative effect of music on the character of music students, whose long-term commitment to acquiring professional competences as performers, teachers, conductors or composers can be examined using the research on Positive Psychology, which is mainly concerned with furthering people's psychological wellbeing. This paper profiles the virtues and character strengths of a sample of eighty Spanish students completing bachelor's degrees in music during the academic year 2016-2017, using the VIA Inventory of Strengths-free version (VIA-IS) (Peterson & Seligman, 2004) to analyse the respondents' key strengths. The survey showed high scores in judgment and lower scores in self-regulation. The results were contrasted with samples of students in bachelor's degrees in the social sciences.

However, the true extent of its use is unknown in Spain as the data-base set up for this purpose is still underused (Registro de Nutrición Enteral Pediátrica Ambulatoria y Domiciliaria -NEPAD-). More thorough registration of patients in the NEPAD online register will provide information about the characteristics of HEN in Spain: prevalence, diagnosis, the population sector being administered HEN, complications and developments. Likewise, forecast and planning of the necessary resources could be made while those in use could be analysed.

A prospective, cross-sectional, multicenter study was conducted in 404 women with resected, non-metastatic breast cancer. Participants completed questionnaires: perceived social support (MSPSS), coping strategies (Mini-MAC), and psychological distress (BSI-18). Sociodemographic factors as age, education, and partnership status were associated with coping strategies. As for maladaptive strategies, hopelessness was more frequent in older people and lower educational level; fatalism in older and single people, and cognitive avoidance was associated with lower educational level. Suppor t from family, friends, and partners was associated with a greater fighting spirit. In contrast, high psychological distress (anxiety and depression) was associated with greater use of maladaptive strategies. Young people, a high level of education, having a partner, low psychological distress, and seeking social support were associated with the use of adaptive cancer coping strategies.

The experts’ responses were analysed according to the empirical and theoretical principles of Positive Psychology, using Peterson and Seligman’s “Character Strengths and Virtues” handbook (2004) to create a competency profile of the personal and social traits and skills that can guarantee teachers a degree of success. The results were also analysed according to the interviewees’ demographic and professional variables and compared with results obtained in similar research. One finding was that the reality of education students’ degree courses often fell short of their expectations. For this reason, the article concludes by proposing resources to reinforce the development of certain personal and social traits and abilities in education degrees, both ...

As a teaching method, tutorials are fundamental to university education, and are underpinned by the following goals: to accompany students; to help them establish a clear training pathway; and to promote their academic achievement. Our proposal aims to introduce psychological aspects into the Tutorial Action Plan (TAP) which, while often left unattended, are closely related to academic achievement. Our objective is to identify the relation between the academic commitment of pre-service teachers (preschool education, primary education and double degree students) at the UB and stress and coping skills, academic motivation, achievement and self-efficacy, as well as the opinions of students and tutors on the resources used during TAP and potential improvements to it. This is a transversal prospective exploratory study, applying the following questionnaires: Academic commitment (UWESS-9); Perceived Stress Scale (PSS); Self-efficacy (NGSE); Motivation (MSLQ); and two ad hoc online questionnaires. In conclusion, we hope that the results of this study will help us reformulate the TAP of said degree programmes, improving personalized attention and the quality of the student tutorial system, which is one of the standards used to assess universities
