
Carla Sarli
Graphic Designer and Master in Communication Design graduated from Facultad de Arquitectura, Diseño y Urbanismo, Universidad de Buenos Aires. A former teacher at "Communication" and "Typography" courses at Graphic Design Studies, FADU-UBA.
I have published articles about methodologies of design and dynamics that lead to innovation in complex contexts, using the Social Construction of Technology and Actor-network theory as a theoretical and methodological approach. My master's thesis studies the reasons behind the innovation in infographic language led by the Argentinian newspaper Clarín during the 90s decade.
Professionally, I work as a consultant in the Experience Design field and have led projects for global companies to understand their customers, find solutions to complex problems, and turn ideas into concrete, innovative products and services. I have worked on international projects in several Latin American countries and currently participate in the design industry in Melbourne, Australia.
I work in multidisciplinary teams involving designers, developers, and social scientists in academic and professional fields.

Con el objetivo de profundizar en las razones por las cuales aún no ha sido posible desarrollar un lenguaje de patrones en esta área de diseño, realizaremos un análisis comparativo entre el catálogo de patrones para arquitectura que supone el libro Un lenguaje de patrones (1980), de Christopher Alexander, y tres bibliotecas de patrones de diseño de interfaces web de usuario (UI-Patterns, Welie.com y Yahoo Pattern Design Library), disponibles online. Se intentará hallar las regularidades de estas bibliotecas para luego contrastarlas con el catálogo de Alexander. Esta comparación es posible no sólo porque los patrones de interfaces web de usuario se inspiran en los de Alexander, sino también porque ambas metodologías se encuadran dentro de un enfoque de diseño denominado “diseño centrado en el usuario”.
