The study of apostasy in Judaism and Islam is related to linguistic problems, the two most import... more The study of apostasy in Judaism and Islam is related to linguistic problems, the two most important of which are: firstly, the specificity of the term apostasy, and secondly its translation in both languages (Arabic and Hebrew) and the two religions, i.e. Judaism and Islam. Many scholars have deliberately used this the term against its original meaning and others used it as a neutral meaning in both Judaism and Islam, although their meaning is specific in the two languages and the two religions. This research introducing: The specificity of the term in the original sources of the two religions and languages. It also discusses the problem of translating this term and its equivalent in the source language into the target language. Since a Muslim translator cannot translate the equivalent in the source language, if used in the context of a Jewish belief in the religion of Islam, so there is no problem if he replaces it with a good term that shows the eloquence of his religion in the target language. As an honest translator, he should show the original meaning of the term by using the source language.
