The highest similarity is found between S. obtusifolia and S. tora, while the highest variation is observed between S. alata and S. hirsuta. UPGMA tree derived from cluster analysis reveals three major clusters, the first of which consists of two species (S. alata and S. auriculata), the second cluster comprises four species (S. hirsuta, S. obtusifolia, S. tora and S. occidentalis) and the third one is composed of five species (S. multiglandulosa, S. sophera, S. siamea, S. timoriensis and S. surattensis). A close relationship is also found between S. multiglandulosa and S. sophera, and between S. siamea and S. timoriensis. Results obtained from the present study are found congruent with cytological and anatomical studies showing the significance of numerical analysis for taxonomic relationship in the genus S...

Bangladesh has been pursuing a liberal trade policy consistent with the trend of free market economy and WTO agreement. In process of liberalization of the economy, Bangladesh adopted a free-floating exchange rate system since May 31, 2003. The level and extent of movement of exchange rate have a significant impact on the macroeconomic variables of the economy. On the other hand, unsustainable economic policies and other factors also lead to a volatile exchange rate. Both the fixed and floating exchange rates have their own merits and demerits. The present article offers an analytical discourse on the prospects and implications of floating exchange rate in Bangladesh. The study is mainly exploratory in nature. In this study the authors have tried to assess the impact of new exchange rate system on the economy of an underdeveloped country like Bangladesh.

CG codes have been established as an important effort to ensure accountability and responsibility from the companies concerned. However, assessment is required as to what extent these codes are actually practiced in real world. This study attempts to examine the CG practices in the banking sector of Bangladesh, where institutional credibility and transparency are believed to be even more crucial. Here, sixty seven CG code attributes have been examined from ten scheduled banks. These attributes have been further classified in six broad headings, namely board issues, shareholder rights & disclosure of information, financial reporting, audit practices, disclosure & transparency and HRM practices. Hypotheses for the study have been developed from the research questions. The results and analysis indicate compliance of CG code in the banks falls short of requirements. Consequently...

Most of the developed countries are trying to bring internet to solve health related problems. Meanwhile, healthcare is not that much developed in populated countries like Pakistan. The private health care sector serves more than half of our country’s population. We have tried to develop a web based model to transfer the clinical system into the cloud to overcome the doctor burden, and further assist the patients to find a doctor easily. This can save time of both the doctor and patient. The web based patient-doctor database shows credibility in bringing both the ends near and accessible even in low internet connectivity regions. However, there is a back draw to educate the end users about the complexities in the web based doctor portal. This will provide more insights after eliminating health issues and provide an adequate approach to the patients.
