ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan tepung biji durian dalam ransum terha... more ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan tepung biji durian dalam ransum terhadap produksi puyuh. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Oktober — Desember 2016, di Perumahan Griya Mentari No. 116 Kel. Talang Kering, Kec. Muara Bangkahulu. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penggunaan tepung biji durian dalam ransum burung puyuh memberikan pengaruh yang sangat nyata terhadap konsumsi ransum dan konversi ransum,  namun memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata terhadap produksi telur. Konsumsi ransum berkisar 22.78-24.23 (g/ekor/hari), produksi telur 8.26-8.59 (g/ekor/hari, konversi ransum 2.94-266 (g/ekor/hari). Kata Kunci : tepung biji durian, ransum, produksi puyuh

Kabawetan sub-district is one of the central areas of plantation, agriculture and animal husbandr... more Kabawetan sub-district is one of the central areas of plantation, agriculture and animal husbandry in the province of Bengkulu. In running their farm, farmers still use conventional system, especially the use of anorganic fertilizer (chemical factory) and overused pesticide. Besides as a farmer, almost in every village people also seek beef cattle and dairy cattle. Farm waste already started causing environmental problems for society, while on the other hand they have difficulty in getting the fertilizer for business continuity (horticultural crops). With input from the farmers, we agreed to offer a solution using animal waste into organic fertilizer. The form of such activities carry out: education and counseling about environmental friendly agriculture; as well as training in the making Bokashi and biourine. Later stage is making plots experiment to apply organic fertilizer produced vegetable plants. This community service activity has been done and able to reduce farmers' dependence on chemical fertilizers and chemical pesticides, and also revive local knowledge in farming. From the aspect of production, horticultural products (vegetables) produced by farmers are more environmental friendly.

There is no simple or efficient technology to make local material-based feed such as Durio zibeth... more There is no simple or efficient technology to make local material-based feed such as Durio zibethinus Murr seed powder and mineral proteinates. Partners' low comprehension in nutrition necessity of Talang Benih duck was in line with breeding purpose. Science and Technology Program for society is expected to provide understanding to both partners about hatching management, breeding management and ration composition containing durian seed powder and organic mineral. It is expected that by the end of program, selected Talang Benih ducks were obtained and feed containing durian seed powder was produced. Durian seeds are prevalent waste in Bengkulu province which has not been optimized as duck feed because of the partners' limited knowledge. Durian seeds processing into durian seed powder undergoes steaming process for added-value of durian powder seed which is eventually used as feed for Talang Benih duck in place of yellow cornmeal. Utilization of durian seed powder in duck ration would cut down feed cost thereby increasing farmers' income. Science and Technology Program (IbM) was running well observed from the high interest and zest of partner groups in extension and training programs as they asked questions during the extension and training. Talang Benih duck produced were utilizing feed made of durian seed powder. Both partners involved in this program understood and comprehended hatching management, Talang Benih Duck breeding management, durian seed powder making and management of ration composition utilizing durian seed powder.

ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ... more ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui jenis daun dan lama penyimpanan terbaik pada kualitas telur itik talang benih konsumsi. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial dengan 2 faktor dan 3 kali ulangan. Faktor pertama yaitu jenis daun (daun sirsak dan jambu biji) dan faktor kedua yaitu lama penyimpanan (0, 15, dan 30 hari). Parameter yang diamati yaitu warna kuning telur, albumen indeks, yolk indeks, dan haugh unit. Data dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA dan perbedaan antara perlakuan diuji lanjut dengan uji DMRT. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahawa tidak ada interaksi antara jenis daun dan lama penyimpanan terhadap warna kuning telur, albumen indeks, yolk indeks, dan haugh unit. Background: Lebong is the third highest district (34.4%) of stunting cases in Bengkulu Province, ... more Background: Lebong is the third highest district (34.4%) of stunting cases in Bengkulu Province, where the percentage of children under five is very short (11.8%) in Bengkulu2. The purpose of this study was to analyze the associated of parenting to stunting to children with ages 6-59 months and its control recommendation in Lebong district. Method: The type of research used was observational analytic, case control study design and purposive sampling technique. The population is mother and children with ages 6-59 months in August 2018. Quantitative data analysis (univariate and bivariate). Results: Stunting respondents in Lebong district had a history of parenting: non exclusive breastfeeding (55.20%), time for complementary feeding <6 months (55.20%), used poor health services (72.40%), low level of maternal knowledge (67.20%), poor environmental sanitation (77.60%) & poor psychosocial stimulation (94.80%).
