Rice genotypes differ greatly in their seedling chilling tolerance (CT), which is known to involve differential expression of large numbers of genes and proteins. To further understand the metabolomic responses of rice to chilling stress, profiles of the 106 primary metabolites of a CT japonica variety, Lijiangxintuanhegu (LTH) and a chilling sensitive indica line, IR29, were investigated under a time-series of chilling stress and non-stress control conditions at the seedling stage. We identified 106 primary metabolites that were temporally and genotype-dependently regulated in LTH and IR29 under the time-series chilling stress and subsequent recovery. Heidegger on the Problem of the Embodiment of God Abstract: "Embodiment of God" is understood by ... more Heidegger on the Problem of the Embodiment of God Abstract: "Embodiment of God" is understood by me as "the appearance of God," and in terms of "divinity (Gottheit)," "holy (Heilig)," and "Being (Sein)." Heidegger states in "Letter on Humanism": "Only from the truth of Being can the essence of the holy be thought. Only from the essence of the holy is the essence of the divinity to be thought. Only in the light of the essence of divinity can it be thought or said what the word 'God' is to signify." 1 This statement basically shows how the latter stage, namely "God" appears or is embodied in the world. It also manifests how Heidegger understands onto-theology. "Letter on Humanism" was written in 1946. Is such a relation between ontology and theology to be found in Heidegger's early works? What of Heidegger's position after 1946? How can we understand Heidegger's position on God according to his works in general with regard to my formulation of it as the "embodiment of God"? 1 The Historical Backdrop of the Relation Between Theology and Ontology According to some scholars' investigations, in the early Greek religious experience "God happens, temporally, in the world and is totally in this happening," and in this sense "the divine event (das göttliche Ereignis) breaks in." Therefore, "the concept 'divine' (to theion) as opposed to the particular God or gods (theos, theoi) itself marks the inception of philosophical theological reflection in the early stages of Greek thinking." 2 The transition from the theoi to theion opened up a new dimension regarding God or gods, from the direct, mythical experience of God as such to the experience of the divine objects or events that always appear in the world, and finally to philosophical reflection on the divine.

He defines téchne as being the opposite of túche (chance). Hence, politics is neither an exact science nor an accidental opinion; it is, rather, a teachable art or skill (Kunstlehre). Based on this theme, the paper investigates how Hannah Arendt interprets political freedom in the public sphere as the will of the plural citizens, facing an uncertain future, attempting to still the disquiet of the collective ego. A comparison between Arendt and Heidegger could be made if we further investigate Heidegger’s understanding of political freedom in the public sphere based on his comprehension of the will of Da-sein and the enowning (Ereignis) of Being.
The notion of techné in Husserl’s phenomenology is related to his treatment of the three layers o... more The notion of techné in Husserl’s phenomenology is related to his treatment of the three layers of the “teaching of craft” and the two layers of the science of “life-world.” The superior layer of both is of philosophical significance. Aristotle’s statement in ethics and metaphysics: techné is man-made, but can transit to spontaneity, and then to natural becoming, which manifests physis as the ultimate aim of his philosophical system, enlightens us to notice the following aspects in Husserl’s phenomenology. 1. Pure or formal ethics is of a high-level téchne in the philosophical sense. 2. The concept of life-world leads to transcendental phenomenology. 3. WhatIdeas IIimplies – as a technique the method of phenomenology tends to let the pure I and spiritual I as matters appear themselves by the natural attitude – could conduct us to understand the artistic aspect of Husserl’s philosophical theory.
This article attempts to clarify the ambiguity or double sense of "Kunstlehre" by Husserl and Gad... more This article attempts to clarify the ambiguity or double sense of "Kunstlehre" by Husserl and Gadamer, and emphasizes "Kunstlehre" as pure science that originated in Aristotle's evaluation of theoría, and as fine art, or as the nature or quasi-nature of "as if", according to Kant's idea. Aristotle's concept of phrónesis will be also regarded as a kind of natural "as if", and considered as "Kunstlehre". Gadamer's philosophical hermeneutics makes a high level or deep theoretical reflection on the "Kunst" of understanding. He founds his hermeneutics under phrónesis, which will be discussed in detail. Regarding the application of "Kunstlehre" to a practical research, this article shows a contribution by Hersch, and explains how phrónesis is actualized in a case study by him. In the end, "Kunstslehre" will be pointed out as a process of exercise with time whereby Sensus communis functions as a principle (arché) of Gadamer's hermeneutics, and makes the process of the formation of phrónesis possible.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a successful treatment for non-melanoma skin cancers in clinical pr... more Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a successful treatment for non-melanoma skin cancers in clinical practice. More and more doctors use PDT to cure the patients with skin cancer, especially in the elder. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of topical PDT using aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) in the treatment of Extramammary Paget's disease(EMPD) and its role in surgical improvements. A total of 38 cases were included in this study. Lesions were located in the scrotum and the penis. Thirty one cases had surgical resection of the lesions followed by ALA-PDT (combination of PDT and surgery group). Seven cases received ALA-PDT without receiving surgical resection because the surgery is extremely difficult or the patients refused surgery (simple PDT group). Each tumor lesion was irradiated with 120J/cm(2) using a 635-nm laser for 15min. A total of 3 times of assisted ALA-PDT was applied after surgery. In the combination group, there was no recurrence in 6 months ...
