Singularities’ Distribution of the Field’s Analytical Continuation, Scattered by the Front Part of the Mirror Sphere

In this article there is investigated the character of the singularities’ distribution correspond... more In this article there is investigated the character of the singularities’ distribution corresponding to the analytical continuation of the field reflected by the front part of the perfect electric conductor sphere illuminated by the electromagnetic waves point source. The analysis of these singularities show, that they represent the distorted image of the incident wave source and are distributed on the caustic surface. The discrete character of the singularities, when the ratio of the sphere radius and the incident wave length is finite, is explained by the Fresnel zone method. The numerical experiments performed to determine the scattered field’s singularities confirm theoretical reasoning based on geometrical optics and Fresnel’s zone method.

Presented first part contains the simulation of such antenna using the software which based on Finite Element Method for the purpose to fined optimal parameters of such antenna before its construction. Using numerical experiment we suppose to determine best parameters of antenna, to achieve desired radiation parameters: well matched to the open space; circular polarization of radiated field; narrow-beam; wide-ban. It was designed 2.49 GHz and 2.4 GHz circular polarization radiation patch antennas, which was archived by cutting edges from square patch antenna. For simulation it was used 6.8 relative permittivity material for the substrate.

In this paper also presented two beams antenna. First part of the paper contains the simulation of such antenna using the software, based on the Finite Element Method for the purpose to find optimal parameters of such antenna before its construction. Our goal is to find the best parameters of the antenna, using the numerical experiment, to achieve desired radiation parameters: well matching to the open space; phase controlled narrow-beam; wide-band. There was designed phase controlled and two beams patch antennas at 7.6 GHz and 7.8 GHz respectively. Phase controlled antenna was archived by cutting patch antenna by half. Two beams antenna where made by cutting patch by two parts same type cutting corners from it. For simulation it was used 6.8 relative permittivity material for the substrate.

During solution of the practical problems related to the construction of the field radiators or r... more During solution of the practical problems related to the construction of the field radiators or receivers, the important problem is to “match” them with the free space. The bad matching leads to the formation of the undesired reactive field in the near zone of the corresponding antenna. The investigations show that, the best matching can be achieved by putting the sources in the points of singularities of the far field’s analytical continuation. By this could be achieve the minimalarea of the reactive field. If the sources, which describes the far field, are distributed outside the singularities, then in the near zone the reactive field with the high amplitude is created, which doesn’t make such a radiator optimal. In the given work the sources are distributed initially outside the singularity points. The goal is to study main properties of the excited reactive field and to study the far field formation mechanism, when the sources of the radiation are singularities points out.

A numerical algorithm is proposed to localize field singularities with the aid of the method of a... more A numerical algorithm is proposed to localize field singularities with the aid of the method of auxiliary sources using functions that describe converging and diverging waves. Effect of field singularities of particular pattern is studied in the problem of synthesis of an optimal antenna. It is shown that a desired pattern with minimum reactive field is obtained when the sources are located at such singularities. Results of numerical and real experiments are presented to prove the correctness of the proposed algorithm.
