The aim of the proposed scheduling is to minimize the total energy price paid by the consumer and to reduce power peaks in order to achieve a balanced daily load schedule. An exact and computationally efficient mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) formulation of the problem is presented. This model is verified by several problem instances. Realistic scenarios based on the real price tariffs commercially available in the Czech Republic are calculated. The results obtained by solving the optimization problem are compared with a simulation of the ripple control service currently used by many domestic consumers in the Czech Republic.

In this paper, we focus on the Home Area Network (HAN), the part of the Smart Grid. We show a basic idea of HAN Simulation Framework and simulation process. The purpose of this framework is to prepare the environment for fast and simple models of Home Coordinator and Smart Appliances implementation. The basic functions of framework are described. Moreover, the communication protocol is specified. This protocol, based on EN 50523 specification, should be fast and simple way to transfer necessary information between devices inside HAN. When developed, the framework will serve to implement and test of HAN scheduling algorithms. Key-Words: Home Area Network, Home Coordinator, Communication protocol, Simulation, Simulation Framework.

This extension provides soft real-time capabilities in the user space and hard real-time capabilities in the kernel space. In this work, some key parameters of the RTOS are measured such as switching context time, periodic thread jitter, interrupt latency response, execution time of synchronization primitives and heap allocation time. This measurements create a test bench of real-time system capabilities which should help the developer to create truly real-time application on the specific hardware based on measured real-time capabilities. RTAI functions can be called from the user space using LXRT and also from the kernel space. These two spaces are compared from the point of view of the developer and real-time capabilities. All measurements have been done on the LinuxCNC 2.7 based on Debian 3.4 distribution running on AMD Athlon XP 3000+ uniprocessor. To accomplish these measurements, new benchmark application has been developed.

After slight introduction, the Home Area Network is described. The paper focuses on the device called Home Coordinator. The Home Coordinator controls all home appliances in the home with respect to reach their maximum efficiency and cost saving. A basic approach and algorithm to schedule home appliances is presented.

At present, the diminishing volume of fossil fuels and the increasing pressure to use renewable sources of energy necessitate the integration of such volatile sources into electrical grids. This process, however, results in higher energy costs, and the consumers are thus more willing to change their behaviour to either reduce the expenses or maintain them at a reasonable level. One of the relatively few customer-oriented options to optimise energy costs consists in the demand – response principle, which utilises external information to minimise energy consumption during high price periods. Assuming the constantly changing conditions in electrical grids, and thus also the varying demands, it is vital to provide for automatic optimisation excluding the need of user intervention. The thesis presents a method which, after being implemented into the control member, will facilitate the...

The proposed simulator is an extension of the UPPAAL tool simulator. Instead of choosing transition to be performed randomly or manually, the simulator calculates transition times according to transition guard and state invariant for each transition. A probability density function, which is needed for such calculation, is formally added to each edge of the automaton. Described procedure can reveal realistic behavior of the system modeled by the automaton. Within the paper the concept of a state-space tracing is shown on a case-study.

Interoperability classes are provided and operations for working with ontologies are defined. Based on these operations, rules and classes an interoperability framework intended for exchange of data in sensor networks and data acquisition systems is created.

The most accelerated area is healthcare. We call Healthcare 4.0 a new approach to technological progress in this field. As the name suggests, this trend has something to do with Industry 4.0. It is not true that healthcare takes over industrial production, but some technological processes. An example is the Internet of Things and its modification of the Medical Internet of Things (MIoT) for medical devices. As in industry, the effort is to remove as much human activity as possible from the control chain. We try to achieve the same properties in healthcare systems. With the advent of the coronavirus pandemic, the development of similar applications has accelerated significantly due to a lack of experienced manpower in the industry. In particular, the care of elderly or less mobile patients is personnel and time consuming. The trend of an aging population does not contribute to this either. To maintain the cavity of care despite the lack of manpower, it is necessary to make this work as efficient as possible. Anti-decubitus mattresses should also be used for this purpose, which monitor the position and change of position of the patient who is prone to bedsores. Our classification methods use machine learning methods to improve the accuracy of the detected position. Thanks to this, we can alert staff if necessary to prevent critical injuries and reduce treatment costs before damage occurs. Prevention is the only and best possible treatment for bedsores.

According to IEC 61508 and other relevant standards, the developed product has to comply with appropriate requirements, and the same rule applies to the development process. The underlying environment comprises multiple user tools; in this article, therefore, the sophisticated use of well-combined tools is characterized into a tool-chain assembly supporting the automatic model-based deployment within the ARM Cortex-R architecture. The code generation process is suitably illustrated via an exemplary application. The presented workflow then generates reports, and these are briefly discussed in the given context. Using the real development kit, a PIL simulation is assembled and performed. Based on the results, compliance with the functional safety standard is addressed. This toolchain assembly, set up within the employed environment, provides an alternative view on the standard V-model and enables the model-driven architecture concept to be incorporated into the commercial area.

Due to the large number of existing ORM frameworks, only the most widespread frameworks-Entity Framework a NHibernate are compared. ¨Because of the presented disadvantages, long learning curve and specific reqierements that we have on our ORM projects, we have decided to develop our own ORM layer based on the Table Data Gateway design pattern.

The multitier system is based on the .NET framework, using modern OPC UA protocol for communication. The system is used in the teaching laboratory and serves to teach students and to demonstrate the principles described in the standards. The paper describes both the way of implementation and potential use. It is a combination of modern technologies namely OPC UA and control by superior batch system. You can find the mapping of the procedural model to the PLC and the data flow. SkuBATCH is then tested on a virtual production model. This whole solution is then taught as an example of batch production.
