These pose a serious threat to stable network operation and control. Therefore, both static and dynamic voltage stabilities are currently one of the key topics worldwide for preventing related black-out and islanding scenarios. In this paper, modelling and simulations of static voltage stability problems in MATLAB environment are performed using author-developed computational tool implementing both conventional and more advanced numerical approaches. Their performances are compared with Simulink-based library Power System Analysis Toolbox (PSAT) in terms of solution accuracy, CPU time and possible limitations. Furthermore, their use for locating critical network buses/branches/areas and most critical loading scenarios in terms of voltage stability are demonstrated. ...

The aim of this study has been to create a manager which can exhibit complex behaviour from two points of view – the development and runtime ones. To support the first case, the domain developer needs to provide a set of plans which tell the agent how to cope with particular tasks. Then during the runtime, the agent processes these plans to manage the dialogu e in accordance with an optimization criterion specified. This paper summarizes our effort and gives an overview about our architecture.

Despite frames are frequently used in commercial speech applications, they lack enough automation for error recovery within a dialogue. In this paper we present and demonstrate our mechanism that fills this gap by automatically tracking and managing the dialogue flow causality.

We present our deliberation process based on optimizing the length of a dialogue. As innovative features, the manager accommodates the "lounge mode" for passing all initiative back to the user within a single dialogue turn, and a two-layered structure for representing the dialogue context. At the end of the paper, we suggest future extensions to the architecture.

As we show, even when dealing with this simple technique, the manager exhibits complex skills, as for example acceptance of references to historical entities or maintenance of context causality (by utilizing application of a journaling system). Our research goal is to create a generic and easy-to-use manager. At the end of this paper, future work is outlined, as the manager is still under development.

As we show, even when dealing with this simple technique, the manager is able to provide a complex behaviour, as for example maintenance of context causality. Our research goal is to create a domain-independent dialogue manager accompanied with an easy-to-use dialogue flow editor. At the end of this paper, future work is outlined, as the manager is still under development.

We present our deliberation process based on optimizing the length of dialogue. As an uncommon feature, the manager accommodates a two-layered structure for representing the dialogue context, i.e., user's intentions detection and beliefs management. At the end of the paper, we suggest future extensions to the architecture.

Our results show that keeping the initiative in dialogue at users’ side as long as they know what to say improves information exchange rate by 37.5 %. We also discuss applicability and implications for other domains.

We present our deliberation process based on optimizing the length of a dialogue in terms of its turns needed to accomplish a task. As innovative features, the manager accommodates a ''lounge strategy'' for passing initiative back to the user, and a two-layered structure for dialogue context representation. We show that applying the lounge strategy during a dialogue leads to improving the information exchange rate by approximately 5% compared to ''common'' dialogue strategies alternative. Furthermore, we present two of our dialogues and analyze them with respect to the agent description. At the end of the paper, we suggest future extensions and modifications to the architecture, and conclude.

This poses a serious threat to stable network operation and control. Therefore, voltage stability is currently one of key topics worldwide for preventing related black-out and islanding scenarios. In this paper, modelling and simulations of steady-state voltage stability problems in MATLAB environment are performed using author-developed computational tool implementing both conventional and more advanced numerical approaches.
