We aim to develop an interactive presentation system to enhance presentations with bidirectional communication during presentations. We employed a hybrid approach of a traditional presentation supporting system (PowerPoint) and a Web application to realize the interactive presentation system. The audience can provide direct feedback on delivered slides using the Web applications; then, the feedback is synchronized to the presenter's slides. Specifically, the presenter collects opinions using our real-time questionnaire function. The questionnaire results are displayed on the slide in real time, which can help presenters to grasp opinions about their presentation. Because users can make their questionnaires in PowerPoint, doing so is quite easy. This paper explains the development of the system and demonstrates that the real-time questionnaire system has high performance and scalability.

Users can use multiple tablet devices as a pseudo mobile large display on demand by using our system. For example, users can make discussions by using Web applications anywhere. We present management methods of the arranged displays and two types of synchronous messages. One uses positional information and the other uses operational information for Web page synchronization. We show two applications based on the extended Web displaying system, a piano score system and a map viewer system.

We propose a collaborative learning support system (CLSS) for studying in the classroom and off-campus. Users study cultural and historical sites through a field trip using our system and cellphones. We report the results of learning based on experience and study using online Web-based authoring support overcoming the limitations of conventional Web page authoring support making it difficult for learners to make web pages. We propose a Web-pamphlet making support system (WPASS) as a CLSS subsystem in which users easily construct and edit their study notes. The WPASS provide services to edit Web pages via a browser and enables teachers to advise learners thorough these pages. We discuss the advantages and effectiveness of our proposal, which supports making a Web guide for users in experienced learning, making and editing Web pages in real time and write about their experiences ...

Examples of functions for the reactive presentation are shape animation effects on slides and slide transition effects. Understanding the functions that realize the reactive presentation on the Web can be useful. In this work, we present an effective method for synchronizing shape animation effects on the Web, such as moving the objects and changing the size and color of the shape objects. The main idea is to make a video of animated slides, called Web Slide Media, including the page information of slides as movie chapter information for synchronization. Moreover, we explain a method to reduce the file size of the Web slide media by removing all shape animation effects and slide transition effects from a Web slide media item, called Sparse Web Slide Media. We demonstrate that the performance of the system is enough for practical use and the file size of the Sparse Web Slide Media is smaller than the file size of the Web Slide Media.

Papits helps to find both information and/or person by a keyword and a know-who search mechanism. Information sources in Papits are distributed because they are members' computers. To find good information and people from such environment, we conceptualize information as agents and introduce peer-to-peer(P2P)

The goal of this work is to type a large collection of XML approximately but efficiently. This can also process XML code written in a different schema or even code which is schema-less. Our approach is intended to achieve identification based on the syntax and semantics of the XML documents by information extraction using ontology, and to support retrieval and data management. Our approach has three steps. The first step is XML to predicates, the second step is to compare predicates and classifies structures which represent similar meanings in different structures , and the last step is predicates to rules by using ontology and to maintain XML Schema. We evaluate similarity of data type and data range by using an ontology dictionary, and XML Schema is made from results of second and last step.

Web content can be easily replicated using a crawler that automatically retrieves all contents of visited web sites. A rigger reuses content collected by crawlers without authorization. Our fake web prevention system is based on channelizing and imaging original

Mobility enables agents to reduce network load, overcome network latency, and handle network disconnections. Few mobile agent systems support Prolog language, and no system supports GUI programming on Prolog language. Prolog's first order logic representation has benefits for constructing mobile agents. In this paper, we present a Prolog-based programming framework, iML, for constructing mobile agents with graphical user interfaces. On the iML framework, we provide three mechanisms: runtime environment for mobile agents, a Prolog-based mobile agent description language, and a visual tool to design GUI layouts. We evaluate the iML framework from two viewpoints: migration performance and the usability of the framework. Experimental results show that the iML method is 6.7 times smaller in size, and 6.0 times faster in migration speed in comparison with the Java serialization technique. We used the iML framework at our knowledge programming lecture. During the lecture, 60 students attended after which 45 students could create GUI-based mobile agents, and 16 students could create excellent applications by using the framework.

The main strength of WFE is that the method can provide users with a way to edit any web page regardless of its original author. When a user access a web page via the proxy agent, the proxy agent augments the web page with client-side scripting via JavaScript that provides the user with the editing functions. By utilizing the XHTML DOM, the script included by the proxy agent allows the user to simply select any portion of text on the page and then directly edit the underlying HTML even if the selected text appears in many different places in the document. WFE identifies the specific instance of the selected text to be found. We also describe the system called WPM to show how effectively the method WFE can be used. WPM provides marking and anchoring functions on ordinary web browsers. The users can mark words and phrases on web pages by using their browsers without any extra plug-ins like similar systems. The result shows that the method WFE is effective in developing Web applications such as the system WPM.
