Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian kuantitatif – deskriptif eksploratif. Penelitian dilaksakan di empat sekolah menengah atas (SMA) yang ada di Kota Bandung dengan jumlah partisipan sebanyak 155 peserta didik. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah five-tier diagnostic test sebanyak 11 butir soal. Hasil dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan ditemukan 5 miskonsepsi yang memenuhi kriteria diantaranya M-6.1 (pengaruh medium terhadap frekuensi) dialami oleh 30.97% atau 48 peserta didik; M-7.1 (pemantulan gelombang tali pada ujung bebas) dialami oleh 12.90% atau 20 peserta didik; M-8.2 (pengaruh gaya terhadap pulsa gelombang) dialami oleh 11.61% atau 18 peserta didik; M-8.3 (pengaruh frekuensi terhadap pulsa gelombang) dialami oleh 12.26% atau 19 peserta didik; dan M-9.2 (hubungan antar panjang gelombang dan teg...

The method used in this research is quantitative - descriptive exploratory research. The study was performed in four high schools (SMA) in the city of Bandung with a total of 155 students. The instrument used in this study is five-tier diagnostic test that has 11 items. In determining the misconception, category of students is used acquired from the students answers at the first level up to the fourth level. While the fifth level is used to determine the source of the causes that cause students to experience misconceptions. The results of the research that has been done from 11 items, found 5 misconceptions that meet the criteria including M-6.1, M-7.1, M-8.2, M-8.3, and M-9.2.
