Students now have chances of progression after completing their diploma courses in the same polytechnics to do degrees. The study was an assessment of factors firms consider when entering into strategic alliances, the case of the Kenya institute of management. The study adopted a case study design. The target population was the directors and managers of the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM). A sample of 25 respondents was used which was spread proportionately across 3 administrative strata. The study used primary data that was collected through a self administered questionnaires. It reviews the studies relating to internship and its effect on early career development of higher education graduates. With high levels of unemployment, the job market has become highly competitive. There is need, therefore, to come up with graduates who are ready for the job market, fully equipped with practical experience. The paper reviews various studies done by scholars in the area of internship, and recommends practical solutions that can be used to enhance the crucial role of internship for Kenya to achieve vision 2030. Harnessing Social Capital for School Development: Community Participation in School Construction Projects

The study examined how communities participate in school construction projects in primary schools... more The study examined how communities participate in school construction projects in primary schools in Somaliland and how community participation in school construction projects influences the performance of those projects. The study used a correlational design and was undertaken as a cross-sectional survey. The target population was 920 primary school headteachers in all the 13 regions of Somaliland and 82 District Education Officers. A sample of 257 headteachers was drawn using multistage sampling where purposive sampling and stratified random sampling with replacement were used to sample headteachers while 22 DEOs were sampled using simple random sampling. Data was collected from headteachers using questionnaires and from DEOs using semi-structured interviews. The questionnaire was pilot tested on 28 headteachers. Methodology: The study adopted an explanatory research approach based on a cross-sectional survey design to collect and analyse quantitative data. This study proposed destination loyalty the most appropriate indicator of destination competitiveness. Self-administered questionnaires were used to collect quantitative primary data to help understand tourist pull motivation factors and destination loyalty. Policy Interpretation, Project Management Practices and Performance of Construction Projects

The study sought to determine whether the performance of construction projects was influenced by ... more The study sought to determine whether the performance of construction projects was influenced by school infrastructure policy interpretation and whether project management practices mediated that relationship. A cross-sectional survey using a correlational design was used. The target population comprised of 920 head teachers and 86 District Education Officers (DEOs) in all the 13 regions of Somaliland. Purposive sampling and proportionate stratified random sampling with replacement were used to sample 272 schools while simple random sampling was used to sample 20 DEOs. Data collection was by self-administered questionnaires for head teachers and semi-structured interviews for DEOs. Questionnaires pilot testing was done on 28 head teachers in Awdal region. The response rate was 90.8% (247 head teachers) for questionnaires and 100% (20 DEOs) for interviews. Variable relationships were tested using t-tests at 5% level of significance. School infrastructure policy interpretation exerted a significant direct effect (b = 0.3215, p< 0.001, R = 0.4183) on the performance of construction projects. Project management practices mediated the relationship with a significant positive indirect effect of 0.4548, CI [0.3505, 0.5642]. A direct negative linear relationship existed between school infrastructure policy interpretation and the performance of construction projects. Policy interpretation exerts its influence on the performance of construction projects through project management practices.

Developing facility-oriented obstetric and neonatal training programs grounded in principles of teamwork utilizing simulation-based training for emergency response is an important strategy for improving the quality care. This study uses 3 dimensions of the Kirkpatrick Model to measure the impact of PRONTO International (PRONTO) simulation-based training as part of the Linda Afya ya Mama na Mtoto (LAMMP, Protect the Health of mother and child) in Kenya. Changes in knowledge of obstetric and neonatal emergency response, self-efficacy, and teamwork were analyzed using longitudinal, fixed-effects, linear regression models. The management style that public secondary school principals use is crucial in determining how the school performs academically. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between the strategic management styles of public secondary school principals and their schools' academic performance in Langata Constituency, while the purpose of study was to understand how different strategic management styles used by public secondary school principals in Langata constituency have influenced school's academic performance. The study used descriptive statistics such as percentages and frequency, and Tables where data collected was analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS)-version 19.0. The findings are presented as per the objectives and research questions of the study. The findings of the study indicated that democratic management style lead to the best or improved academic performance of Public Secondary Schools in Langata constituency. The finding is in support of Bateman and Snell (2007) who observed that management is the process of working with people and resources to accomplish organizational goals. Good managers achieve or actualize organizational goals effectively and efficiently. The study recommends a positive approach of actualizing school objectives on academic performance improvement through efficiency and effectiveness by employing democratic styles of management.

Participants from 26 intervention facilities committed to a range of strategic goals including additional training, CME, and the purchase of key commodities to improve the quality and ability to deliver effective and appropriate Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care (EmONC). Each facility received 24,000 KShs to achieve the self-selected goals that were partly informed by PRONTO’s highly realistic birth simulation training.
