Nano fluids are found to be having the best thermal transport property in the recent years many investigations are took place to improve the thermal efficiency by using the nano fluids which might become the revolutionary solutions to the heat transfer problems and the nano fluid can in future over take the places of the conventional fluids. The proposed analysis is carried out whether the method can help in the extraction of heat and to That to what extent we can use this for the better results in the thermal efficiency. The analysis is carried out by using B L method and kern method and graphs are plotted, compared with water to water results.

Steam is the hot fluid, whereas Water and Acetic acid-Water miscible solution serves as cold fluid. A series of runs were made between steam and water, steam and Acetic acid solution. In addition to, the volume fraction of Acetic acid was varied and the experiment was held. The flow rate of the cold fluid is maintained from 120 to 720 lph and the volume fraction of Acetic acid is varied from 10-50%. Experimental results such as exchanger effectiveness, overall heat transfer coefficients were calculated. A mathematical model was developed for the outlet temperatures of both the Shell and Tube side fluids and was simulated using MATLAB program. The model was compared with the experimental findings and found to be valid.

Due to incomplete combustion of fuel oil pollutants like CO, HC, NOx are released into atmosphere causing negative impact on air quality, environment and human health. Researchers all over the world concentrated on how to reduce the pollutants. Euro norms specify the allowable percentages of CO, HC and NOx in the exhaust gases. Euro norms being implemented in the developed countries have given stringent values which has led to the development of catalytic converter which is an added equipment in automobile. Hitherto in the catalytic converters supplied in modern cars, Platinum and Rhodium metals are used for coating monoliths. These metals are rare and hence expensive. In the research carried out by the authors, suitable monolith substrates are tested and used in the catalytic converters with coating ...
