The age of presentation is dependent on when the neurologic insult occurred, and distinctive alterations may not appear until puberty. The left hemisphere and the male gender are more frequently involved. Common findings that can be seen are seizures, hemiparesis, mental retardation, and facial changes. Characteristic MRI findings are dilation of the lateral ventricles, hemiatrophy of the cerebrum, frontal sinus hyperpneumatization, and compensatory hypertrophy of the skull. Here, we report a 17-year-old female patient who reported physiotherapy treatment after the attack of epilepsy, with the complaint of inability to use the right hand for functional activities and gait deviations. Patient examination revealed typical chronic hemiparesis of the right side with mild cognitive affection. Brain investigation confirms the diagnosis of DDMS.

Most common symptom of menopause include muscle and joint ache, poor memory, lower back pain and trouble sleeping. The vasomotor and emotional domains reported less often compared with the physical and psychological domains. Such adverse changes in physical and mental health may have a negative impact on Quality of Life (QOL). Pilates is a mind body exercise focusing on muscle strength, core stability, endurance, muscle control, posture, and respiration which seems to improve both the physical and psychological components in women during menopause. The given study helps to provide the effect of 6 weeks Pilates training protocol on menopausal women’s presenting complaints as well as on her QOL. Complaints and clinical finding: Patient’s main concern were low back ache without any cause night sweats, fatigue, disturbed sleep wake cycle which lead to difficulties in performing activities of daily living...

The distal biceps tendon from both heads may converge or remain anatomically separate before attachment to the radial tuberosity. The incidence of distal biceps rupture is 1.2/100,000 per year and is mostly seen in middle-aged men. The rupture of the biceps tendon is a relatively less common lesion making this case unique. Physiotherapy rehabilitation post-surgery is found to be effective; it includes management of pain, increase range of motion exercises, strengthening exercises, muscle energy technique, cardiovascular fitness, all these together helps to improve patient outcomes. A case of the 40-year-old female is presented in this case report who underwent traumatic glass-cut injury in proximal forearm resulting in distal bicep-tendon repair with ulnar artery injury and ulnar nerve neuropathy. After surgical reconstruction patient presented with pain in the should...

There are numerous causes associated with pneumonectomy like bronchial carcinoma, bronchiectasis,... more There are numerous causes associated with pneumonectomy like bronchial carcinoma, bronchiectasis, destroyed lung due to pulmonary tuberculosis, and many more. Pneumonectomy causes several pulmonary complications secondary to it. However, few evidences are available on effectiveness of chest physical therapy rehabilitation in reducing the complications in pneumonectomy patients. This case series reflects on effectiveness of early and routine physical therapy in preventing post-operative complications. This series includes two cases. First case was a45 year old female who had pneumonectomy due to carcinoma. She had post-operative pain and discomfort. Second case was a53 year old male patient with pneumonectomy due to tuberculosis. He had pain, breathlessness, respiratory muscle wasting and weakness as well as abnormal postural traits after five years of pneumonectomy. Diagnosis, Intervention and outcome:Case-1:Pneumonectomy secondary to squamous cell carcinoma. Case-2: Pneumonectomy secondary to tuberculosis. Intervention includedphysical therapy, exercise and ed cation program with use of manual and mechanical devices.Outcomes included improvedmuscle strength, improved functional independency and improved Quality of Life. AprogrammedPhysiotherapy rehabilitationis effective in maintaining functional independence, improve quality of life and preventany post-opt complications.

However, evidence based standard methods for its assessment haven't been established yet in patients with stroke. Objectives: To explore literature to determine standard method for evaluation of Genu Recurvatum and to find out the best strategy or Instruments to assessed GR and the estimated range of knee hyperextension Stroke patients. Data sources: A computerized Systematic Literature search was performed, from January 2000 to October 2022 to extract data. A best evidence synthesis was conducted to summarize the results. Result: Twelve studies were included in the review. Eight out of ten studies have mentioned the degrees of GR. Various different methods have been found, commonest being the analysis of gait cycle by software and stance phase of gait cycle being commonest position. Conclusion: The most widely preferred position for assessment of GR is stance phase of gait cycle by videotaping it and analysis with software method in patients with Stroke.

Colle’s fracture of the wrist is among the most common bony injuries encountered in emergency practice commonly caused by a fall, landing on an outstretched hand with the wrist in dorsiflexion. The majority of Colle’s fractures are manageable with casting and conservative management. After healing and cast removal, the joint undergoes stiffness that needs prompt physiotherapy management to improve range of motion with muscle and ligament strengthening specifically for the injured hand and wrist affected. The patient’s main concerns were Pain, swelling, and stiffness over the forearm, wrist, and hand. The main clinical findings were pain, reduced ROM, reduced strength, stiffness and inability to perform wrist, and hand movements. Wrist and hand stiffness post Colle’s fracture. Physical ...

Globally, One in five older adult experiences balance problem. Prevalence of fall has been estimated at 14-53 %in India. Various intervention has already been use to prevent fall and improve quality of life. Static Stabilization Exercises and Progressive Strength training have proven to be effective as a single intervention however minimal literature is available on combined effect of both. The main objective of study is to find out efficacy of combined Static Stabilization Exercises and Progressive Resistive Exercises on balance and quality of life of elderly population and also establishment of dose response relationship of balance training. Methods/Design: The study will be designed as experimental study. 100 participants will be selected as per inclusion and exclusion criteria and will be allocated in two groups, Combined Intervention Group (A) and Traditional Balance Intervention group (B). Both intervention include 30-45 min session which will be carried out 3-5 times in week for duration of 8 weeks structured into different components. Outcome will be Balance and Quality of Life and outcome measures will be evaluated at baseline, at midway (4th week) and at the end (8th week) of intervention period. Statistical Analysis will be done using SPSS24. Oversion and p<0.005 will be considered as level of significance. Discussion: The study protocol details two Physiotherapy Interventions to improve balance and quality of life in elderly population. In current literatures there are minimal evidence on combined effect of Static Stabilization Exercises and Progressive Resistive Exercises on balance and quality of life. Successful Completion of trial will provide evidence for best strategy targeting balance and quality of life and relationship of dose response and balance training.
