T... more Nowadays, there are a huge number of applications that help to learn foreign languages in HEIs. The article gives a concept of chatbots, their application scenarios for the development of speaking skills of HEI students learning English; defines the role of chatbots in acquiring language practice; analyzes today's chatbots for learning foreign languages; investigates the functions of chatbots for modeling language behavior. Despite their imperfect intelligence, large companies (e.g., Apple, Google, and Amazon) have already placed chatbots in the center of their flagship devices. Chatbots are now filling the Internet, acting as guides, salespersons, and assistants. However, chatbots designed as communicators have yet to make a meaningful contribution. Формування культури іншомовного професійного спілкування у майбутніх інженерів визначає опанування професійних і культурологічних аспектів комунікації, що теж охоплює комунікативні установки, знання про прийоми, механізми, форми і методи спілкування та вміння застосову-Summary. The formation of the culture of foreign language professional communication among future engineers determines the mastery of professional and cultural aspects of communication, which also includes communicative attitudes, knowledge of methods, mechanisms, forms and methods of communication and the ability to apply knowledge in a given situation, taking into account the specifics of intercultural communication. The content of professional communication of engineering specialists is reduced, firstly, to the formation of professional communication skills and abilities, written language literacy, which is important in business correspondence, secondly, to the exchange of information between a teacher and a student in the educational process, thirdly, to the content of the information itself, which is the main factor in the acquisition and formation of students' knowledge and skills. In addition, in professional communication, the amount of proper information is quite important: relevant, reliable, unlimited, available, which is necessary in the aggregate. It is useful information of a cultural and ethical nature that is able to be mastered and remembered by students as much as possible and in the future to be fully applied in educational and professional activities. The effectiveness of foreign language training is achieved by combining conventional foreign language learning technologies with the latest intensive didactic technologies, which include illustrative, imitative, practical and situational learning methods, methods of active and problem-based learning of foreign languages, stimulation and motivation for educational and cognitive activities due to the content saturation of professional methods significant and personally valuable information.
An anthological analysis of known literature and historical sources is carried out in the work. I... more An anthological analysis of known literature and historical sources is carried out in the work. It was found that the development of foreign language training of future professionals was influenced by a number of factors: socioeconomic (focus on the needs of the labor market, integration into the international space, scientific and technological progress); educational (updating legal documents in the field of education, standardization of educational content, development of methods of professional development of a specialist). The historical period is analyzed and the following stages are determined: ideological (realization of ideological imperative in language and professional training of future specialists; educational-methodical (preparation according to unified curricula, reading and translation as a leading type of speech activity); integration (integration of foreign language teaching and multicultural education)), methodological (use of traditional verbal methods, standardized textbooks). Thus, the research conducted in the article indicates the periods (stages) of formation, functioning and development of foreign language education.
