
Sharon L Holmes
Sharon L. Holmes, PhD has academic training in accounting, student affairs, and higher education administration, coupled with 30 plus years of practical experience in two- and four-year public and private institutions. Administrative experiences include positions at the coordinator, director, program and department chair, and provost associate levels that required fiscal management, supervision of professional, clerical, and graduate assistants, as well as collaborative working relationships with students, faculty, administrators, and federal, state, and local institutional constituents. She is currently an associate professor in the Department of Student Affairs Administration in the College of Community and Public Affairs at Binghamton University. Her expertise and research interest include access and equity issues of women faculty and administrators, retention and persistence of students of color in higher education, and identity development of African American females all of which are investigated through the methodological lens of qualitative research.
