Researcher and artist interested in time-related works of art. Dr. phil. in arthistory on performance-art.

Since 2005 he recycles scripted papers into objects and installations.

Marinettis dictum of the beauty of a speeding care are famous, however as the art of the futurist... more Marinettis dictum of the beauty of a speeding care are famous, however as the art of the futurists was more than propaganda Italian painters like Giacomo Balla, Umberto Boccioni and Gerardo Dottori were searching for ways to paint a car in motion. Until today photographers can either get a sharp image of the body of a car or represent speed by lines or blurred contours. The achievement of the three painters was the use of simultaneous views of the same car either on one screen (Balla) or in three phases of a starting, running and arriving racing car like Dottori. First, the painters referred to dust and smoke, but the more sophisticated way was the transfer of photography of the flight of supersonic projectiles first executed by Ernst Mach and Peter Salcher at the Kaiserliche Akademie der Wissenschaften in Vienna in the 1880s (published in 1889, Vol. 98). The extensive body of drawings by Balla contain several edged or parabolic lines that suggested that he had seen such pictures, which might have been published in newspapers or magazines. A different strategy was used by Boccioni, who set the car which is stiff in contrast to movements of animals and humans. The movement of the latter interested him more than the vehicle made from steel. The result often looks funny according to the talent of the painter as a cartoonist.
