Knowing the exact number of children who are victims of sexual abuse is an impossible task. Through law 1146 of 2007 rules were issued for sexual violence prevention and comprehensive care of children and adolescents sexually abused. The evaluation should be done as soon as possible, evidence should be obtained within 72 hours.
