Geospatial location service is not only used in measuring ground distances and mapping topography... more Geospatial location service is not only used in measuring ground distances and mapping topography, but has also become vital in many other fields such as aerospace, aviation, natural disaster management, and agriculture, to name but a few. The innovative and multidisciplinary applications of geospatial data drive technological advancement toward precise and accurate location services available in real-time. Although the RTN technology is currently utilized in a few industries such as precision farming, construction industry, and land survey, the implications of precise real-time location services would be far-reaching and critical to many advanced transportation applications. The GNSS real-time network (RTN) technology, introduced in the mid-1990s, is promising in meeting the needs of automation in most of the advanced transportation applications. This article presents an overview of the GNSS-RTN technology, its current applications in transportation-related fields, and a perspective on the future use of this technology in advanced transportation applications.

This study aims at assessing the influence area at signalized and stop-control intersections along rural corridors. The study used speed as a performance measure in examining the spatial extent of operational effects at intersections. High-fidelity connected vehicle (CV) trajectory data, collected at 11 different sites in Florida, was used in this study. The CV trajectory data consists of individual waypoints that included timestamps and location coordinates along with other attributes. Drivers’ speed profiles while driving through the intersection were established and analyzed to determine the length of upstream and downstream influence areas. Quantile regression models were developed to estimate the 50th, 70th, and 85th percentiles of upstream and downstream influence areas separately for signalized and stop-contr...

It targets individuals, corporations, organizations, and public services such as hospitals and police stations. It is a growing industry that affected more than three million users from 2019 to 2020. The ransom payments totaled 25 billion-plus dollars in the year 2019. The latest version of ransomware was developed using undetectable and nonanalysis techniques. This paper represents an intelligent KNN and density-based machine learning algorithm to detect ransomware pre-attacks on an endpoint system. The data preprocessing and feature engineering techniques are augmented with the KNN algorithm for finding the solution. This helps the anti-malware developer, vendors, endpoint security provider companies, or researchers work on malware detection using advanced machine learning algorithms to develop the more effective ransomware defensive solutions to detect and prevent ransomware pre-at...

Self-reporting is a valuable tool in transportation research practices especially in driver&#... more Self-reporting is a valuable tool in transportation research practices especially in driver's non-compliance behavior on-and off-road. Self-reporting often serves as a proxy and provides access to data that may be difficult to obtain by other means. Whereas assessment and validation of such subjective observations is another challenge to decipher, objective measures of drivers' behavior (i.e. speed behavior) could be useful to assess the correlation with self-reported data. To appraise the reliability of drivers' self-reported data, this study was conducted to analyze drivers' perceptions of their driving speed and compare it with the actual operating speed. Data was collected for the Seward Highway in Alaska; a two-lane highway that connects Anchorage with Seward. The actual operating speed data and the self-reported data were collected at passing lanes sites where a strategy of differential speed limits was recently implemented. Similarly, to model drivers' self-reported attitude data, a seemingly unrelated regression (SUR) was used to account for contemporaneous correlation of error terms and the endogenous behavior of variables in the system of equations. Mean free-flow speeds were compared to the expected means of the drivers' self-reported speeds using one-way ANOVA. In terms of operating speeds, the results suggested that the actual speeds of vehicles in the passing lanes were higher than the current posted speed limits (PSLs). The results of the statistical analysis indicated a significant discrepancy between the actual operating speeds and the drivers' selfreported speeds. The findings of this study could have significant implications on the implementation of PSLs, and regarding the perception of drivers about their own speeding behavior on two-lane highways and the passing lanes, which may be addressed to improve safety. The drivers may be educated about PSLs, to improve traffic safety and operations and strategies be devised to better reduce the above-stated discrepancy.

A simple random probability sampling technique was used to collect 80 respondents. Results: The mean age of the respondents was (30.7 ± 7) years, ranging from 17 to 47, with majority being 25-29 years.. The average marital age, and average age at first pregnancy were (16.7 ± 2) years and (17.7 ± 2.33) years respectively. Ninety-two...

The visualization of three-dimensional coherent structures present in fluid flow over a delta win... more The visualization of three-dimensional coherent structures present in fluid flow over a delta wing configuration is a challenging task for current CFD research. These turbulent structures have to be resolved by using proper turbulence modeling with combination of computational speed and accuracy for high angles of attack aerodynamic design. With this aim, fully structured grids on a half span delta wing were generated with the grids refined near the wall to capture the physics of vortex flow in both the span-and stream-wise directions. The onset of flow separation and the amount of flow separation have been under-predicted by SA, Standard k-ε and RNG k-ε turbulence models. The primary vortex suction peak is situated conically on the wing and diminishes in magnitude as the trailing edge is approached. The cutting plane technique was utilized for the visualization of vortex breakdown phenomenon at high angles of attack. On the basis of comparison of computed surface pressure plots with that of experimental data and visualization of different contours, Shear Stress Transport model (SST) is found to be a good choice for prediction of separated flow over delta wing configurations. Moreover, surface flow visualizations have shown profound sensitivity of the vortex structures to the angle of attack.

This paper presents Na Kika, an edge-side computing network, that addresses this tension between extensibility and security; it safely opens the internet's edge to all content producers and consumers. First, Na Kika expresses services as scripts, which are selected through predicates on HTTP messages and composed with each other into a pipeline of content processing steps. Second, Na Kika isolates individual scripts from each other and, instead of enforcing inflexible a-priori quotas, limits resource consumption based on overall system congestion. Third, Na Kika expresses security policies through the same predicates as regular application functionality, with the result that policies are as easily extensible as hosted code and that enforcement is an integral aspect of content processing. Additionally, Na Kika leverages a structured overlay network to support cooperative caching and incremental deployment with low administrative overhead.

The patches were subjected to characterization of physicochemical property (thickness, weight uniformity, drug content, efficiency, percentage moisture uptake/loss), in vitro drug release and drug permeation, skin irritation, in vivo application, pharmacokinetics analysis, and stability studies. The results indicate that the interaction of thiolated chitosan with the negative charges of the skin opens the tight junctions of the skin, whereas flaxseed and coriander oils change the conformational...
