The idea of creating a new research center, in the North Aegean Region and especially in Lemnos, is a project for which we need to work hard to substantiate and ultimately to realize. The central idea for its creation and the need to create it, must be highlighted. However, it is important to show the to final decision makers, what their achievement will be, for the regional, the local but, above all, the national economy.
The study is based on the following axes: a) what does the term "Special Interest Tourism" mean for science, applications in Greece and specialization in Lemnos. b) What does the creation of a Research Center mean, what legal status exists in the country and how many research centers exist and produce knowledge and data in Greece. c) Why choose Limnos to create a new research center, what is the cultural footprint that already exists and, above all, the creative expenditure that will contribute to regional and spatial development. So we are moving forward, developing all of this, with the belief that we are doing a very important work and that we are putting to action on an observable island that is from its position the geographical boundary of Europe.
