The objective of this research is to determine the most commonly used coping strategies in male a... more The objective of this research is to determine the most commonly used coping strategies in male and female students of the fourth and fifth year of secondary school of a state school of the Rímac, for which the type of descriptive research was used. The sample of probabilistic type was conformed by 62 adolescent males and women, of fourth and fifth year of secondary of a state educational institution, whose ages oscillated between 16 to 18 years, who were evaluated by means of the Scale of confrontation for Adolescents (ACS) of Frydenberg and Lewis (1997); revised and adapted by Canessa (2002), in metropolitan Lima. The results allowed to determine that the majority of adolescents do not present a clear and precise coping since in all the strategies their answers refer to trying to face them only sometimes. Likewise, the strategies most used by students are: Search for relaxing diversions, Physical distraction, Search for social support, Search for spiritual support, Find belongings and lack of coping.
