The research aims at analyzing the demand for agritourism development for international tourists in Armenia, find out their needs. The analysis of the available literature sources and approaches shows the essence of agritourism, its activities, functions, needs of tourists. Armenia has a rich history and culture, beautiful nature, delicious cuisine, Armenian villages have a traditional way of life and ethnic diversity. The analysis of the international experience of agritourism development is very important, as it allows identifying the main steps of the development of different countries, the possibilities of their localization in the Republic of Armenia. The article analyzes the models of agritourism development, the experience of different countries, such as France, Italy, Germany, Georgia, Australia, etc., associations operating in this field in different countries, and their functions. The issues and the main steps of agritourism development in different countries, as well as the main directions of their application in the Republic of Armenia were discussed and analyzed.

Agritourism development is a good source for rural development, as it will contribute to the investments in villages, increase rural income, emlpoyment, etc. The main purpose of the article is to analyze agritourism development opportunities and issues in Armenian rural places. The analysis was carried out in Armenian two regions: Lori and Tavush. The investigation of the topic and the results of the analysis state that Armenian regions Lori and Tavush have opportunities to develop different types of tourism based on existing resource potential: historical-cultural, eco, agro, gastronomic, adventure, etc. The research empirically confirms and theoretically proves the existing problems that hinder agritourism development.
