Το πρόσφατο 25ο Φεστιβάλ Ντοκιμαντέρ Θεσσαλονίκης απέδειξε ξανά πόσο δύσκολο είναι να γίνει ντοκι... more Το πρόσφατο 25ο Φεστιβάλ Ντοκιμαντέρ Θεσσαλονίκης απέδειξε ξανά πόσο δύσκολο είναι να γίνει ντοκιμαντέρ για το Ολοκαύτωμα στη Θεσσαλονίκη. Εδώ και χρόνια υπάρχουν πολλοί συμμετέχοντες σε φεστιβάλ για την εβραϊκή ιστορία της Θεσσαλονίκης και τη δολοφονία των Εβραίων της. Με αξιοσημείωτη εξαίρεση των ντοκιμαντέρ του Περικλή Κορτσάρη, πολλές από αυτές τις ταινίες αποφεύγουν το κεντρικό και πιο «δύσκολο» ζήτημα της πόλης – το γεγονός ότι οι πολλοί Έλληνες Χριστιανοί συνεργάστηκαν με τους Γερμανούς και πλούτισαν σε βάρος των Εβραίων γειτόνων τους. Ακόμη χειρότερα, ορισμένες ταινίες προωθούν ιστορικές διαστρεβλώσεις και ανακρίβειες.
(The recent 25th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival has again demonstrated how difficult it is to make documentaries about the Holocaust in Thessaloniki. For years there have been multiple festival entrants about the Jewish history of Thessaloniki and the murder of its Jews. With the notable exception of the documentaries of Periklis Kortsaris, many of these films avoid the city’s central, and most “difficult,” issue—the fact that the many Greek Christians collaborated with the Germans and enriched themselves at the expense of their Jewish neighbours. Worse, some films promote historical distortions and inaccuracies.)
