Based on the existing research literature, recognition accuracies of different character recognition systems have been studied in languages like Devanagari, Tamil and Assamese on numerical datasets. The databases used are HP Tablet PC and UNIPEN, which confines with particular datasets. Based on the classifiers and features, the recognition accuracies will be depends. Keywords— discrete Fourier transform (DFT), discrete cosine transform (DCT), wavelet transform, Hidden Markov Models (HMMs) and Support Vector Machine (SVM).

Speaker indexing is a pattern recognition task. Every pattern recognition task is classified into three phases namely, feature extraction, training and testing phases. In this paper, we analyse and study about the major feature extraction techniques that exist and propose robust source features for text-independent speaker indexing system. A comparative study is carried out with each existing feature extraction techniques available with source features for speaker indexing task. Finally, we propose, source features are better than the other feature extraction techniques.

In recent years, a considerable rate of increment in medical cases regarding brain tumors has been observed, affecting adults and children. However, it is highly curable in recent times only if detected in the early time of tumor growth. Moreover, there are many sophisticated approaches devised by researchers for predicting the tumor regions and their stages. In addition, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is utilized commonly by radiologists to evaluate tumors. In this paper, the input image is from a database, and brain tumor segmentation is performed using various segmentation techniques. Here, the comparative analysis is performed by comparing the performance of segmentation approaches, like Hybrid Active Contour (HAC) model, Bayesian Fuzzy Clustering (BFC), Active Contour (AC), Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering technique, Sparse (Sparse FCM), and Black Hole Entropy Fuzzy Clustering (BHEFC) model. Moreover, segmentation techniqu...

We first explored Malt and MST parsers. Considering pros of both these parsers, we developed a hybrid approach combining the output of these two parsers in an intuitive manner. We report our results on both development and test data provided in the Hindi Shared Task on Parsing at workshop on MT and parsing in Indian Languages, Coling 2012. Our system secured labeled attachment score of 90.66% and 80.77% for gold standard and automatic tracks respectively. These accuracies are 3 best and 5 best for gold standard and automatic tracks respectively.

In this paper, we propose ANN based online handwritten character recognition for Telugu Language.... more In this paper, we propose ANN based online handwritten character recognition for Telugu Language. In literature review, it is observed that Size of the database and preprocessing approaches plays prominent role in the recognition performance. Preprocessing techniques like normalization, interpolation, Uniformization, Smoothing, Slant Correction and resampling techniques are performed for better recognition performance. Local features like(x,y)co-ordinates, (x,y) ( , ) 2 2 x y and the global features like tan() are considered as features for ANN modeling and Classification of 52 Telugu vowels and consonants. Recognition performance is evaluated by augmentation the local, global features and and tan () Features. Theperformance is evaluated in terms of precision, recall and F-measure. Significant Improvement is reported by augmentation andby adopting preprocessing techniques. The database used for the study is HP-online Telugu database.

The unrestrained growth of cells in the brain is called a brain tumor. The cause of a brain tumor is still unknown and the survival rate is lower than other types of cancers. Hence, early detection is very important for proper treatment.

The related video streaming/analytics requires real-time drone-to-Ground Control Station (GCS) communication and computation coordination for desired user Quality of Experience (QoE). In situations where the quality of the video can be aected by occlusions (e.g., image distortion, frame stalling) due to network bottlenecks, there is a need to dynamically make decisions on the computation ooading and networking protocols in order to properly handle the video data for real world application purposes. In this paper, we propose a novel function-centric computing approach that helps a user to perform drone video analytics to assess a wide-area scene to chart a plan of action. Our approach involves handling network impairments aecting the switching between high resolution/low resolution video capture, or change of camera direction for assessment of the scene eectively. It also features a novel video quality enhancing algorithm based on occlusion-detection that adapts to video impairments related to image distortion and frame stalling. Our experiment results from a realistic testbed show that our approach can eciently choose the suitable networking protocols (i.e., TCP/HTTP, UDP/RTP, QUIC) and orchestrate both the camera control on the drone, and the computation o-loading of the video analytics over limited edge computing resources. The performance improvements for computation o-loading involving our video quality enhancing algorithm are shown for dierent network conditions in terms of occlusion rate and processing times.
