Despite of this fact, there are relatively little attentions found in the research community. Therefore, this paper proposes how Case-Based Reasoning (CBR)-an approach solves new problem from recalling experiences, can be effectively applied to support the use case diagram reuse. In this research, the diagram retrieval method is designed to match the use case diagram by considering two dimensions: use case and actor dimension and relationship dimension. However, in order to present the significant accuracy and practicality of the proposed method, a tool and five comparative sets-including four various dimensional weights and one commercial tool were carefully set up to test in an experiment.

Despite the fact that the major environmental impact is linked to the emissions of landfill gases, the study shows that vehicles carrying MSW also make a substantial contribution to the impact. A model was developed to predict and quantify the emissions released into the atmosphere. An analysis was carried out to calculate the emissions generated by the diesel vehicles carrying MSW, focussing upon different modes of speed and time interval of collection and transportation in different routes of the city. Two different vehicles were suggested to collect and transport degradable and recyclable waste to the respective treatment yard such as composting and recyclable yard for Coimbatore city. The amount of CO, CO 2, HC, and NO x emissions generated by the MSW vehicles during the collection and transportation of the degradable and recyclable waste to the proposed treatment yard were quantified. The emissions were predicted by forecasting the generation of MSW based on the population growth up to the year 2020 for Coimbatore city

The effects of geometrical aspects of the spiral plate heat exchanger and fluid properties on the heat transfer characteristics were also studied. Three spiral plate heat exchangers with different plate spacing (4mm, 5mm and 6 mm) were designed, fabricated and tested. Physical models have been experimented for different process fluids and flow conditions. Water is taken as test fluid. The effect of mass flow rate and Reynolds number on heat transfer coefficient has been studied. Correlation has been developed to predict Nusselt numbers. Numerical models have been simulated using CFD software package FLUENT 6.3.26. The numerical Nusselt number have been calculated and compared with that of experimental Nusselt number.

The test section consists of a Plate of width 0.3150 m, thickness 0.001 m and Mean hydraulic diameter of 0.01 m. The mass flow rate of water (Hot fluid) is varying from 0.5 kg sec-1 to 0.8 kg sec-1 and the mass flow rate of benzene (cold fluid) varies from 0.4 kg sec-1 to 0.7 kg sec-1. Experiments have been conducted by varying the mass flow rate, temperature and pressure of cold fluid, keeping the mass flow rate of hot fluid constant. The effects of relevant parameters on spiral plate heat exchanger are investigated. The data obtained from the experimental study are compared with the theoretical data. Besides, a new correlation for the nusselt number which can be used for practical applications is proposed.

Experimental investigation of heat transfer characteristics in a variable cross-sectioned two-pass channel with combined film cooling holes and inclined ribs

ABSTRACT Heat transfer characteristics in variable cross-section two-pass channel with combined f... more ABSTRACT Heat transfer characteristics in variable cross-section two-pass channel with combined film cooling holes and ribs were studied experimentally. Rectangular ribs with an angle of 60° to the main flow roughened two opposite walls. The film cooling holes were distributed on the rib-roughened surfaces along the second pass. The relative roughness height was 0.123 and the relative roughness pitch was 12.5. The experiments were conducted under the Reynolds number range of 1.0 × 104–6.0 × 104. A series of experiments have been designed to explore how the exit mass flow rate effects on the heat transfer characteristics. Analysis of the experimental results may lead to the following conclusions, (1) with increasing the hole opening ratio, the heat transfer was enhanced while the exit mass flow rate keeping constant. (2) The flow resistance decreased with increasing the exit mass flow rate. (3) The relation between the exit mass flow rate and the Nusselt number was a quadratic function. (4) Different cooling hole locations produced different heat transfer effect.
