Mechanical properties of natural rubber seismic isolators are varied due to aging deterioration. ... more Mechanical properties of natural rubber seismic isolators are varied due to aging deterioration. It is needed that seismic performance of isolated bridges are maintained considering aging deterioration of isolators over their lifetime. In this study, seismic failure modes and seismic safety of isolated bridges were evaluated considering uncertainties in the material and mechanical properties and aging deterioration of isolators. It was shown that seismic safety of the isolated bridges is mainly controlled by the rupture strain of the isolator if the ultimate capacity ratio between the isolator and the column is low and that adequate capacity ratio is needed to enhance seismic safety and reparability of isolated bridges.
A total of 95 teachers in ten school districts near EasternMichigan University (Ypsilanti) respon... more A total of 95 teachers in ten school districts near EasternMichigan University (Ypsilanti) responded to a questionnaire concerning their needs for university-related assistance in reading instruction. The results revealed the following: (1) teachers were greatly concerned about reading instruction; (2) most teachers were able to recognize a high incidence of reading problems among their students; CO most teachers employed more than one means or dealing with reading problems; 00 most teachers supported the idea of university assistance with reading instruction, especially in the areas of screening, diagnosis, and remedial services for students: and (5) most teachers were interested in receiving specialized training in reading diagnosis and instruction. The testing program also included the measurement with accelerometers of the free-damped vibration of the 26 cables achieved by means of quick-releasing force. From these measurements it was possible to obtain the dynamic parameters of the bridge (natural frequencies and damping ratios) and the real forces in the cables. In the paper, the tests, results and conclusions related to dynamic parameters of the bridge are presented.
The purpose of this study is to determine the level of difficulty of students in the implementati... more The purpose of this study is to determine the level of difficulty of students in the implementation of the field experience program 2018 school year. This type of research uses quantitative descriptive research. The population in this study was all UIR FKIP health and recreation physical education students students who had finished implementing PPL 2018 school year. The sample in this study amounted to 70 students using the Slovin 10% theory formula. The research instrument used a questionnaire with a number of 58 items, a Likert scale, and analysis data with percentage techniques. The results of this study indicate that the level of difficulty of students in the implementation of PPL academic year 2018. In the components of the learning preparation plan reached 67.67% classified as moderate (few experienced difficulties) and the components of learning activities amounted to 76.18% classified as easy (not so difficult).
