SÍNDROME DE DOWN ATRAVÉS DE MATERIAIS MULTISSENSORIAIS First numerical notions of a teen with Down syndrome through multi-sensory materials Leo Akio Yokoyama and adolescents aged 5 to 19, who employed a methodology of Design Experiments. Two activities will be presented as the basis for building a deeper understanding of natural numbers. The theoretical support for elaboration from the works of David Tall on conceptual image and generic organizers. An analysis indicated that an adolescent made significant modifications in his conceptual image of quantification, and improved his ability to quantify. An aspect of the activities that seemed important so that a participant goes beyond the mechanized counting procedure to a use of multisensory resources to check and correct their strategies.
