Dominant studies have interrogated the Covid-19 pandemic and its health, socio-cultural, politica... more Dominant studies have interrogated the Covid-19 pandemic and its health, socio-cultural, political and economic effects on Nigeria, none has satisfactory engaged on the politics of Covid-19 vaccines distribution and reception in Enugu State. This study is anchored on the prismatic prism of welfare state. The study relied on Time-Series research design and adopted the mixed methods of data collection. Descriptive and quantitative analysis were employed as an analytical tool. The study shows that inadequate vaccine distribution has led to elitist vaccine reception. Secondly, lack of proper awareness and disturbing daily reports on the efficacy, potency and effects of the vaccine has also led to vaccine reception phobia by the masses in Enugu State. The study concludes that vaccine nationalism by developed countries has led to low rate of vaccine distribution and conflicting daily reports on the efficacy, potency and effect of the vaccine has led to low vaccine reception in Enugu State.
