The purpose of this study is to find out if occupational stress would impact job satisfaction and mental health of bankers. The study used ex-post facto research design; simple random sampling techniques were used to select 100 samples (bank employees) from Lagos-East Senatorial District of Lagos State, Nigeria. The age ranges of samples were between 21 and 52 years. The mean range and standard deviation of the samples were 30.6 and 3.28. Three validated instruments were used in collecting data and Simple Regression Analysis was used to analyze data. The role of business incubation in fostering entrepreneurship and SMEs development has generated ... more The role of business incubation in fostering entrepreneurship and SMEs development has generated a strong interest among policymakers in recent years. Even among scholars, there is a general consensus that entrepreneurship is pivotal to economic growth in both developing and developed countries. This study investigated the role of business incubators on entrepreneurship and SMEs development in Nigeria. The population of this study comprised of 60 incubatees in Oyo and Lagos State National Board of Technological Beneficiaries (NBTI). Yamane formula was employed to determine the sample size. The sample size for this research study was 60 respondents (30 incubatees in Oyo State and 30 incubatees in Lagos State). The sampling validity was used to access the validity of the data. The study made use of statistical tools which include: analysis of variance (ANOVA) and correlation efficient in testing hypotheses where applicable. The responds gotten from the questionnaire was sorted, coded and the Statistical Packages for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used for the analysis. This study found that business incubation coaching has a positive significant on human capital management towards entrepreneurship performance and also revealed that incubation business knowledge has a positive significant on the sales turnover level of entrepreneurship performance. This research has shown that 70% of the all startup ventures that survive the first three years of operations passed through the incubation programs. The study recommended that the incubation centers should emphasize more on their coaching and technical knowledge, as the result of findings shows that coaching and technical knowledge acquisition contributes 61.3% and 73.6% respectively towards entrepreneurship performance in terms of human capital management and their productivity performance level.

This study examined the joint and relative effect of perceived stress, self-efficacy, and mental ... more This study examined the joint and relative effect of perceived stress, self-efficacy, and mental health on psychological wellbeing of secondary teachers. The study adopted the survey research design. Data were collected from randomly selected 238 teachers from the existing 19 public secondary schools in Ijebu North Local Government area of Ogun state, using four standardized instruments. Two research questions were raised and answered. The analysis of variance for the multiple regression yielded (F (3,237) = 10.17), and significant at p<0.05 level. It also shows that the t-values associated with perceived stress and self-efficacy were significant at p<0.05 level. This implies that perceived stress (β = -.118, t = -1. 931, P< .05) and self-efficacy (β = 0.277, t = 4.562, P< .05) were the best predictors of psychological wellbeing. This study examined the role of small and medium enterprises on poverty eradication in Nigeria. Two research questions were posed for the study and two hypotheses formulated in line with the objectives. One hundred and forty two (142) questionnaires were administered randomly to the entire employee population of the SME companies that are registered with SMEDAN in Lagos Nigeria. The sample size was determined using Yamane formula. The data was analysed using manual and electronic based methods with the aid of data preparation grid and statistical package for the social sciences, (SPSS) statistical package version 21.0. The study made use of statistical tools which include: analysis of variance (ANOVA), correlation efficient and regression analysis in testing hypotheses where applicable. Therefore, the study found out that SME development affects poverty alleviation and also Training organized by SMEDAN affects SMEs employment creation. It was discovered that the small and medium enterprises provided employment opportunities, training ground, harnesses utilization of local resources and also acts as a pillar hold of a nation, Nigeria inclusive. The study concluded that a good development strategy if employed by these SMEs will grow to large-scale capital intensive. The study recommends that SMEs should source their loans from the financial institutions where interest rates are low.

The purpose is to investigate the role of performance appraisal system and employees' motivation on nurses in the hospital setting. The study used survey research design method; simple random sampling technique was used to select 100 nurses from General Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria. A validated Questionnaire titled "Employees' Performance Appraisal and Motivation (EPAM)" was used to gather data from the respondents. Pearson Product Moment Correlation Co-efficient was used to analyze data and tested at 0.05 level of significance. The result found that there is significant relationship between performance appraisal system and employees' motivation. Also, there is significant relationship between employees' motivation and work output. Furthermore, there is significant relationship between employees' motivation and production of quality service. Based on the findings, the study recommended that Lagos State government should set-up committee of experts on personnel matters to work out credible appraisal system for nurses in their employment. Also, the government should ensure that the issue of promotion should be revisited and right place every nurse on job cadre.
