There lots of problem in distribution and metering. The wireless meter promise fast and accurate billing system. The traditional electro-mechanical meters, still widely used today are prone to drift over temperature and time as a result of mechanical nature of the components in the meter. The problem worsens further in collecting the meter readings and generating the bill. In this paper, technique for Prepaid and postpaid scheme using SMS has been illustrated. Online retrieval of the homologous nucleotide sequences through existing alignment techniques is ... more Online retrieval of the homologous nucleotide sequences through existing alignment techniques is a common practice against the given database of sequences. The salient point of these techniques is their dependence on local alignment techniques and scoring matrices the reliability of which is limited by computational complexity and accuracy. Toward this direction, this work offers a novel way for numerical representation of genes which can further help in dividing the data space into smaller partitions helping formation of a search tree. In this context, this paper introduces a 36-dimensional Periodicity Count Value (PCV) which is representative of a particular nucleotide sequence and created through adaptation from the concept of stochastic model of Kolekar et al. (American Institute of Physics 1298:307-312, 2010. doi: 10.1063/1.3516320 ). The PCV construct uses information on physicochemical properties of nucleotides and their positional distribution pattern within a gene. It is observed that PCV representation of gene reduces computational cost in the calculation of distances between a pair of genes while being consistent with the existing methods. The validity of PCV-based method was further tested through their use in molecular phylogeny constructs in comparison with that using existing sequence alignment methods.

Results indicate that work-hardening behavior of b-21S is a strong function of alpha size scale. Specimens with fine-scale alpha exhibited substantially higher strengths (~1200 MPa) compared to those containing coarser alpha precipitates (~950 MPa). Furthermore, reasonable tensile elongation values,~8 pct, to failure could be achieved for these high strengths, provided grain boundary fracture can be limited.

Friction Stir Welding of Dissimilar Alloys and Materials, 2015
For improving productivity and efficiency of any process, an improved understanding of a process ... more For improving productivity and efficiency of any process, an improved understanding of a process is necessary. In that regard, modeling and simulation have definitely played a vital role in understanding heat generation, temperature distribution, and material flow visualization during friction stir welding. Modeling and simulation of similar friction stir welding have proven to be a difficult task, and dissimilar friction stir welding adds an extra layer to the complexity. The chapter reviews current state-of-the-art of dissimilar friction stir welding.

A 16-year-old male was admitted for fever (acute in onset, high grade measuring up to 103 F, with chills, severe malaise and prostration, without any diurnal variation) since last six days and diagnosed as dengue (NS1Ag). Fever subsided after medication. Seven days later he developed headache, vomiting, difficulty in walking and speech. It was acute in onset, rapidly progressive in the form of feet not falling at proper places and broad based gait. There was difficulty in sitting in the form of to and fro movement of trunk and head. There was difficulty in speaking with slurring and speaking syllable by syllable. There was no history of any limb weakness, seizures and loss of consciousness.

The mean age at diagnosis is about 40 years. Pheochromocytomas are commonly inherited as features of multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2 or several other pheochromocytoma-associated syndromes and have variable clinical presentation. Among the presenting symptoms, episodes of palpitations, headaches, and profuse sweating are typical and constitute a classic triad. We report a case of a 17-year-old male patient with rare bilateral pheochromocytoma presenting with persistent hiccups for 4 months and blurring of vision for 1 week, later followed by hypertensive crisis. There was neither family history of pheochromocytoma nor any classic symptoms. Patient was diagnosed with bilateral pheochromocytoma without any syndromic association. But still this patient needs to be followed for future development of medullary...

Objective: To study and compare the association of serum uric acid levels with microalbuminuria in normotensive and pre-hypertensive subjects without a history of cardiovascular disease or renal dysfunction. Materials and Methods: 350 subjects were included in study. All the routine investigations along with serum uric acid and urinary albumin were conducted. Microalbuminuria was detected by immunoprecipitation in a random urine sample. Serum uric acid level was estimated by Spectrophotometry. Results: The overall prevalence of prehypertension was 38.06% (Males, 39.10% and females, 35.56%). The total prevalence of microalbuminuria was 11.61% (9.9% of normotensives and 14.4% of pre-hypertensives). Hyperuricemia was seen in 10.32% of the total study population. Among normotensives, 9% of males and 8.6% of females and in pre-hypertensive subjects, 14% of males & 9.4% of females had hyperuricemia. Among the prehypertensives, those with microalbuminuria had a significantly higher (p<0.001) serum uric acid level (7.024 ± 1.023 mg/dl) as compared to those without microalbuminuria (5.089 ± 0.965 mg/dl). Conclusion: This study demonstrates a strong independent association between uric acid level and microalbuminuria in pre-hypertensive subjects without a history of cardiovascular disease, diabetes decreased renal function.

It is classically described as symmetrical involvement of both upper extremities. Asymmetrical involvement had also been reported, but unilateral presentation is very rare. We hereby report a case of unilateral RS3PE in a patient of seronegative rheumatoid arthritis which was initially misdiagnosed as cellulitis and was given high dose antibiotics without any significant improvement. Later a rheumatologic consultation leads to a prompt diagnosis, and treatment with steroids leads to dramatic reversal of symptoms. This case demonstrates the rare presentation of this rare clinical entity and highlights the necessity of awareness regarding unilateral disease to clinicians.

So, the use of different materials in a given engineering system is a norm not an exception. Thus, to improve the fuel efficiency, automobile industry is encouraging the use of a combination of light metals like Al and Mg alloys. The increased use of light metal parts will necessitate their joining with existing structural member and most probably with dissimilar metals.

This can be appreciated further from the schematic illustrated in Fig. 10.1 which shows an irregular externally loaded two dimensional body. The external forces or loads are denoted by symbol Fi, where i = 1–5 and acts on a small region indicated by A. After removal of external forces or loads, two possible scenarios for the region denoted by letter A are: (a) there are no internal stresses, and (b) there are internal stresses present in the absence of external loads Fi. The stresses within the body in state (b) are termed as residual stresses.

In addition, the emergence of the drug resistant variants of parasitic diseases in the recent years has aroused a great need for the development of potent inhibitors against them. In the present study we selected the metabolically active MAPKs LmxMPK4, PfMAP2 and TbMAPK5 of the three parasitic protozoans Leishmania mexicana, Plasmodium falciparum and Trypanosoma brucei respectively. The homology modeling technique was used to develop the 3D structures of these proteins and the same was validated by PROCHECK, ERRAT, ProQ and ProSA web servers to check the reliability. Ten phytoligands were employed for molecular docking studies with these proteins to search for potent phytoligand as a broad spectrum inhibitor. In this regard two phytoligands (Aspidocarpine for LmxMPK4 & TbMAPK5 and Cubebin for PfMAP2) were found to be more effective inhibitors, in term of robust binding energy, strong inhibition constant and better interactions between protein-ligand complexes. Furthermore predicted ADME & Toxicity properties suggested that these identified phytoligands exhibited comparable results to control drugs potentiating them as persuasive therapeutic agents for Leishmania, Trypanosoma and Plasmodium sp.
