The elderly clothing and anti-falling function have not been perfectly integrated. To prevent the elderly from being injured by falling and meet their pursuit of clothing, there is a need to integrate anti-falling function into elderly clothing with high satisfaction. This study aims to identify the integration strategies to meet the dressing effect that the elderly pursues in different scenarios using Kansei Engineering Type I. The design strategies for the elderly clothing with anti-falling function will be determined. A framework of integrating anti-falling function into elderly clothing with high satisfaction using Kansei Engineering Type I will be constructed, and the research framework will support the PSS design of elderly clothing at a later stage. The results of this study can support the improvement of elderly clothing performance.

The three components of sustainability are economic, social and environmental systems that make up the community in providing a healthy, productive, meaningful life for all community residents, present and future. The issues of using less, re-use, preservation, conservation, re-manufacturing or rebuilding and recycling all become part of this endless journey. Every process and almost every operation within the batik production such as chanting, dyeing, printing and finishing has environmental aspect that should be consider and which the environmental performance can potentially can be improved. Today, a large proposition of environmental issues in batik industries are related to the use and discharge of water which includes residual dye stuff, toxicity, colour waste, heavy metal contamination and other environmental issues particular to the location of a facility. Furthermore, the highly use of paraffin wax and the emissions of wax fume that generates wide range of harmful chemicals which affected the batik artist's health. In Batik business and production, through research and development, we have the ability to find new application for alternative method of production and process, materials, for a better world. This presentation will discuss on the key concepts of batik design for sustainable environment within the Malaysian batik industries context.

Each printing method requires a paste or thickening agent with special characteristics, frequently referred to as flow characteristics. The synthetic thickening agents used are generally extremely highmolecular-weight polymers capable of developing a very high viscosity at a relatively low concentration. However, the paste or thickening are difficult to dispose that create sedimentation to the water during disposal of its wastes. It will be discharged into the drain and rivers that will affect the quality of water and environment. The research explores instances where printing producers and artist can use starch as a thickening agent or paste for unique qualities in textile printing. As an alternative to synthetic pastes, natural biodegradable materials developed from sago can be used during printing process. The advantages of this product are environmental friendly that is non-toxic fumes; production cost is lower, instance application and a creative process enhancement in textiles production.

Batik as an everyday item and marker of identity were highly reflecting the Malay culture in the world. Batik represents it multiplicity in use, commodity and gift as well as dominant product of identity. On the other hand, batik usages are the main element for social business. It is also recognized as an art and manners that are favored by each social group that involved with the element sharing of knowledge and values by the society. This knowledge will enhance the development of culture values in representing sustainable identity within the society. It is widely realized that technology has a wide spectrum impact that imposed traditional batik towards modernity. As far as batik represents our culture, sustainability in batik production leads better futures for the batik industries. This paper will discuss on sustainable batik design through environmental concern and its presentation. A wide spectrum impact of batik has shifted form traditional values to modern one comprising eco-friendly formula in batik making process. It is expected that this will create significant impact to the future of batik business.

Children's clothing is one of the vast parts of post-consumer waste due to the children's growing fast. This study is intended to investigate multifunctional childrenswear among clothing designers to reduce children's clothing waste by the following sustainability. According to the multifunctional design concept, children's clothing is used for multifunctional purposes and recycled and decomposed at the end of the clothing's lifespan. This research is adapted to a mixmethod strategy. An in-depth interview was accepted to analyse the multifunctional children's clothing. Moreover, a survey was conducted to collect data on designers' viewpoints to design multifunctional children's clothing. It was found that the sustainable practice, environmental knowledge, social and market environment, and multifunctional clothing properties significantly affected the designer's viewpoint to design such clothes. However, health issues influence the designer's standpoint. The finding showed that giving awareness of multifunctional children's clothing products among designers would help to improve the acceptance of such clothes. The consequences of this study can be analysed from an educational and managerial standpoint to establish an effective strategy for increasing the rate of sustainability in children's clothing and developing policies to promote multifunctional clothing design.

Consumers first pay attention to the appearance design of clothing online. It only takes 7 seconds for consumers to determine a product, and the colour in its appearance design accounts for about 67% of the role. Thus, this study took the colour design of men's plain-colour shirts as an example in China, established the basic colour calculation scale and an algorithm model of group consumers' product preferences based on Kansei Engineering and scientific mathematics, to provide new sales ideas and methods for retailers and markets online. Firstly, this study obtained the crucial Kansei word pairs (emotional preferences) and colour design elements through interviews, literature, magazines and websites, word frequency statistics, card sorting and cluster analysis. Then, researchers established a basic colour calculation scale of cross-loading through Kansei Engineering and partial lea...

However, to maintain and increase the Malaysian batik economy, batik fabric manufacturing must move in line with the current manufacturing methods and technology. Therefore, the existing batik fabric needs to be improved in terms of manufacturing, including pattern grading design. This study aims to identify the preliminary analysis of the common pattern grading scheme for women's existing batik cloth in Terengganu, Malaysia. In order to gather data for this study, observations and interviews were used as the approach. Eight batik experts were interviewed for the study, and three batik markets and craft fairs in Terengganu were chosen for observation. The findings indicate that the current batik fabric needs to be developed into a pattern grading design to keep up with modern techniques and technology while minimizing the amount of extra cloth disposed of.
